Take Command of the Space Center

Equipped with everything needed for an imaginative space adventure--control center, launch platform, rolling launch pad, transport vehicle, four mini figures, and a satellite--the LEGO Space Center is bound to entertain your aspiring space explorer.

Load Astronaut into the Rocket

The rocket, standing 14-1/5 inches tall, is the highlight of this set. The payload compartment has the ability to hold either an astronaut or a satellite, both of which can be loaded into the rocket using the manually operated elevator.

Start the Countdown to Launch

The launch platform has quite a bit of detail, including a manual countdown board that goes from three to zero. Other cool features include an elevator that goes up and down, a rolling launch pad that holds the rocket and locks into place on the launch platform, a transport vehicle for driving the astronaut to the launch site, and tools for the mechanic to make repairs.

Unique Collection of Mini Figures

The LEGO Space Center comes with four mini figures: two astronauts, a mechanic, and an operator. One of the astronauts comes equipped with a stellar space helmet.

Easy Building with Sub-Models

One of the best features about this set is that the LEGO pieces are packaged into sub-models, which makes building easy. Each package of pieces is numbered and has its own instruction manual for building that specific section.

What's in the Box

494 LEGO pieces, instruction booklet, and LEGO space poster.

Couple with a few youtube videos of rocket launches, this lego set will provide endless fun and imagination for a 5 year old. The rocket itself contains a "payload module" to either contain an astronaut or a satellite. The launch pad has quite a bit of details, including an "elevator" to go up and down. A very fun lego overall.

My son is age 6 and he is just getting to the point where he can build some larger lego sets independently. He really loves the Ninjago and Starwars sets, but those are too advanced for his skill level and Mom & Dad end up building them most of the time. This one he was able to put together with almost no help from us, and he was very proud of himself. This was a gift from his grandmother and I was fearful he would not like it because it wasn't Ninjago or Starwars, but quite the contrary--he loved the space rocket theme and it was very rewarding for him to actually have a set he could build himself.

My 8-year-old son really wanted the Space Center for Christmas and I couldn't find it in stock at any stores. Whenever we would go shopping, he'd scout out the Lego aisle and then turn to me all bummed and announce that said store didn't have it either. So I ordered it through Amazon and it got to me in time. My son was so surprised and excited. He could not believe I found it somewhere. I told him that his mom-mom called in a favor from Santa. Long story made longer (ha), he loves it and even spends hours playing with it after he built it.

This is a great LEGO set for any kids who are in to space and rocket! It has lots of playability and everything works like a real satellite launching rocket like the Atlas V or Titan III. If you have a child who loves NASA, rockets, science, etc, I would get this in a hear beat. BUT, I wouldn't get it here just yet. At the moment I'm typing this (May 28th, 2011) you can purchase this kit at the LEGO website for almost $30 less than the vendors who are selling it here ($70 versus $97.99). These folks would seem to be gouging. Once LEGO has stopped producing this kit, expect the prices here to go bonkers. Get yours now!

For an excellent review of this Lego City 3368: Space Centre, I believe Mr Chris Hall review on the Amazon UK web site - is rather well done! So for more details please see that review, for my part I really liked this set and it does not disappoint. There are a few other similar themed products out there by Lego; namely a Space Buggy, a small Satellite Launch set, but to name a few. So with a little extra Lego and imagination this set can be expanded upon. For Lego enthusiasts' young and old this is a highly recommended purchase.

Got this for my five year old son, and he had no problems putting it together with a tiny amount of help.

The set is split into 4 separate bags with 3 instruction books, letting your child start small with the buggy, then fun with the rocket, then onto mission control and the launch pad. The straight-forward nature of the parts has let him keep putting it back together when it comes apart in play.

My 10 yr old son received this as a Christmas gift. He seemed to be pleased with it and I was surprised that it really didnt take him too long to put together. Never ceases to surprise me at the cost of some of these sets and how little time it actually takes to put them together lol.

Lego makes some really nice durable sets.
