Fun way to learn about basic, stop motion animation with LEGOs
I bought this book at a big box store, but thought that the Amazon crowd would enjoy seeing a review. This is a good book for the first time stop animation film maker. The authors said that they started their film making adventures when they were 12 years old, and that seems the exact, right demographic for this book. While it uses LEGOs as the format for the animation, the lessons from the book could be applied to any animation process and more broadly to film making in general. The reader will learn about the various kinds of shots, how to do blocking, shot design, story development, and even post production. This is a wonderful introductory book that will help the would be director to figure out if animation is for him or her.All in all, this is a lovely book for the aspiring LEGO animator.

This book is a great walk through for anyone starting out in stop motion. It shows you different movements of the body parts to achieve different expressions successfully. The book was fun to read due to the casual speech pattern and funny facts to help you remember. Having ADHD its hard for me to pay attention for long periods of time, however I couldn't put this book down. Highly recommend for any and all ages.

My son has been obsessed with Legos since he was 3. He’s now 13 and is thrilled to start making his own movies! This book concentrates more on the movie concepts then mechanics. We bought this book along with the Klutz Lego “make your own movie kit,” which focuses more on mechanics. The two together give you pretty much all the information you need.

My son is now 13 and is doing a Lego movie for his Social Studies class to demonstrate his ideas on how Canada can best move their oil sands supply via pipeline through the US to the Gulf of Mexico. Incredible.
