The narrative is funny also. Like when the robber steals your pants or the pig drives away in a tractor. Not to mention the first mission on the police force is to get donuts lol.
I would totally recommend at least renting the game. Though it is pretty long. You might be better off just buying the game and then selling it when you are done. I am very happy I picked up this game and still dont understand why some of the "critics" gave the game like 5 out of 10 stars... Who cares I guess.
Edit:
Just finished the game. Found all the collectibles and completed all of the missions. Took a little over 25 hours (which is longer than New super Mario 2 took). I saw another reviewer said he spent over 100 hours. He must like just wondering around doing nothing? I dunno.
Things are, on the whole, very easy to find. There were a few things that I had to scratch my head for a little while before I figured it out. Overall, worth the $8 or so I will have lost buying new and then reselling. Onto the next one.

I am giving this game only 3 stars because the missions are filled with a lot of the same repetitive gameplay actions. Many abilities require the player to simply find a specific object to interact with and then tap the A button until the task is completed. Also, combat in the game is rather repetitive and uninteresting after only a few battles. If the game had tried to enrich the gameplay more, I'm sure I would have given this game a full 5 stars.
So, if you are happy to simply have a game that's pretty relaxing and has a big city to wander around on your 3DS, I recommend this title. Load times are annoying (about 40 seconds each time you enter the load screen) but you can avoid this somewhat by simply staying in the city and exploring your current area instead of moving back and forth a lot among each section.
Nutshell--great game for any gamer! 6 stars, 2 thumbs up! Love.
As far as the game itself, it is easy enough for a 7 year old to get through it and it has its challenges to make it not too easy. I have played the game and it is pretty entertaining.
