The interactive game of LEGO The Hobbit allows gamers to play along their favorite scenes from the films and follows the Hobbit Bilbo Baggins as he is recruited by the Wizard Gandalf to aid Thorin Oakenshield and his Company of Dwarves. Bilbo leaves the comforts of the Shire on a journey through Middle-earth to help the Dwarves reclaim their lost Kingdom of Erebor within the Lonely Mountain. Along the way, he is introduced to ravenous Trolls, dangerous Orcs and, of course, Gollum and his precious Ring. Players will utilize and combine the Dwarves' unique abilities - often with hilarious results - to solve the most diverse Quests of any LEGO videogame to date.

Ultimately disappointed. Beautiful game, fun level design, fun additions to the base LEGO gameplay. Obvious, game-killing glitch on the first level. The game was clearly not playtested AT ALL. Less than ten minutes into the game, if you're playing with two players, one player gets irreparably stuck in the transition between areas. The other player has to play that section without them, then the "stuck" player can drop back in. I'm certain there will be similar glitches later on.

Loses one star for being completely untested. Loses the other star for being two-thirds of a game. This game covers the first two Peter Jackson movies and Warner Bros. is absolutely adamant that there will never be a DLC or sequel to complete the story. Killing the dragon? Forget about it. Driving the Dwarven battle wagon with the rapid-fire crossbow from the third movie? Not gonna happen. Quitting the story at the cliffhanger? That you can do.

Really fun game but woefully untested and unforgivably incomplete. Don't pay full price for this nonsense. Honestly, this is worse than anything EA does. EA holds back content to sell it later as DLC but at least they eventually sell a complete game. WB has essentially (though not literally) promised this game will never be complete, after all-but promising (but not actually saying "we promise") that there would be a DLC encompassing the third film, whose working title at the time was apparently "There and Back Again".

TL;DR
If it had been playtested longer than ten minutes and included all promised content, this review would be five stars. The game has impassable bugs VERY early in the first level and doesn't include the implicitly-promised Five Armies DLC. Each of those things costs a full star.

I have just completed playing Lego Hobbit had a really enjoyable time. I think this game can be enjoyed by kids as much as adults too. Very easy levels to complete tasks, beautiful graphics, very realistic and I do not have to worry about adult graphic violence scenes. I have a 7 year old that loves Lego brand games and truly enjoys it. Game is really creative and provides hours of fun challenges and tasks. Game is a bit pricey so I highly suggest if you are buying a game from Amazon get it on their special pre order before the game is released and you will receive $10 back to your account after game is release. Instead of paying $49.99 I ended up paying $39.99.

As for this one, I love the characters, they are adorable but still true to their movie form. have a huge glitch with the game! I have been playing on the Wii U and everything is fine, saving my games , etc...
but todayI go back in to play a game , that has been saved at about 11% and it puts me back to the beginning! anyone else have this problem?
I tried reloading the game but still the same thing happens! I dont' know what to do about it! so all that I have saved is lost, and when I go back to the load game page it says that my game is at -1% complete! I don't think I"ll be able to finish the game at all!
I tried googling the problem but it just led me to a bunch of websites that talked about other problems so I thought I would try here

It's cheap, so what do you expect? But it's amazingly fun and definitely not a disappointment to the Lego games. However, it miffed me that they just stole the voices from the movie and stuck them in the game, but that's alright. Another thing is that the gameplay is very short, unless you run around collecting things all day. My game also glitched a few times but that may have just been my copy.
Anyways, a great game, especially for how cheap it is.

The controls are easy to figure out, lots of items to break up and fun things to collect from some items broken. It has the great Hobbit storyline. I recommend it highly!!
