I used a double boiler method to make crayon figures. I cut the top off of a few aluminum cans, added like-colored broken crayon pieces to each can, set the cans in about ½” to 1” of water, and simmered on the stovetop until the crayons were melted. I bent a pour spout in each can, then poured the molten crayons into the tray. For multi-colored figures, I angled the tray, filled half way with one color, gave it a minute to setup, then laid the tray flat and filled the rest of the way. After about 5 minutes in the freezer, the figures popped out easily.
If you use this method, be sure that the melted crayons don’t run down the side of your aluminum cans. If it does, and you put the cans back into the boiler, the residue will collect on the side of your pan – and that is not easy to get off.
This tray is high-grade silicone and worked very well for my project.

lego minifigure mold
I purchased this minifigure tray for my sons' 6th birthday. He is crazy about legos and this product fit the bill perfectly. I made both crayon and chocolate minifigure with it. The minifigures came out awesome! They were perfectly detailed and the mold cleaned up easily after I was done. I found that after filling the mold, tapping it on the counter to remove the air bubbles was a simple way to make sure the filling got into the tiny corners. The kids and their mothers were really impressed. I would definately reccommend this product to any lego lover, we use it all the time to make candy, crayons and ice cubes.

The minifigures came out awesome! They were perfectly detailed and the mold cleaned up easily after I was done. I found that after filling the mold, tapping it on the counter to remove the air bubbles was a simple way to make sure the filling got into the tiny corners. The kids and their mothers were really impressed. I would definately reccommend this product to any lego lover, we use it all the time to make candy, crayons and ice cubes.
