Good blades

They seem to hold their edge longer than regular blades but I don't agree that they're much sharper. In fact, I think that some other blades are sharper out of the pack, but of course those dull quickly. The longevity of the edge is what makes this a great product.

The ends can chip just like other blades, too, so have reasonable expectations. They aren't perfect but they are a bit better than most everything else on the market.

I bought these to use in a couple of flip utility knives I keep around for household tasks. For that I'm sure anything would probably suffice, but why buy something if it isn't supposed to be the best?

The blades are as pictured, with the Titanium Nitride coating along the cutting edge. I was surprised by how rough the angled "top" edge of the blade is -- perhaps a result of the bi-metal construction.

The dispenser is has been updated significantly from what's pictured. The blades now slide out from the top, and there is no longer any window or gap to see how many blades remain.

I chose this product over its competitors in part because of the "USA" stamped prominently on the packaging as currently listed by Amazon. Alas, it no longer appears on the packaging I received. These blades are made in Mexico now. Oddly, the packaging doesn't sport a giant "MEXICO" along the bottom edge.

I will not question the quality / longevity of the blades, just by looking at them one can see the "better than the other" quality. Inside the dispenser, they are lightly filmed with oil yet I will say It surprises me how a company could tout an excellent / innovative product or device, and wrap it in such poor packaging. This dispenser adequately houses the blades, but doesn't give them up easily. The front sliding portion of this case has to be in a precise position for a blade to be extractable. Hey Lenox, WAKE UP. How about a little more quality here. I would have no problem paying a little bit more money for a better designed dispenser.

I wish that H**e D***t and the other so-called home improvement retailers had not stopped carrying these wonderful blades. I lament the sad, ongoing trend for these retail establishments to slowly phase out carrying high quality tools and consumables, and simultaneously phase in several "competitor" products that are in actuality all either owned or produced by that company. Boo. These blades are fabulous, and I have been using them for years. Sharp, sharp, sharp, and they hold an edge for a good amount of time.

Not really sure if these are any better than the non TIN coated ones to be honest. They are sharp for sure but I will have to do a bit more testing before it's conclusive.
So far so good. Will update after...
Update 4/12/16:
These blades really don't stay any sharper then the non TIN coated one's in my opinion. I wouldnt purchase these again considering the price and not holding an edge like I had hoped.

These blades stay sharp quite a long time.

My partner prefers these for his construction job, and the price here, while higher than other blades, is reasonable.

I stole a couple for the house utility knife- they definitely stay sharp longer than the Stanley blade I had.

I think they are much oilier than other brands, and that's annoying having to clean blades when you're trying to change it in a hurry. (More of an issue for my man, as they become difficult to handle with dirty hands) also, the case sometimes doesn't seem so secure. Those two reasons are why I docked a star

Excellent sharp, sharp, sharp blades

I was skeptical about buying a package of blades for about a dollar a blade when most times they cost pennies per blade. But I read the reviews and most of the positive reviews said that they were worth it. I figured if the blades were poor then I'm only out a few dollars. So far I've been using them for a few weeks and they don't seem to be losing their edge. I'm not a construction worker or even much of a weekend hobbyist. I'm just a guy who occasionally opens packages, cuts rope or needs to slice open those shrink wrapped hard plastic shells that keep you from your latest indulgent online purchase. The only thing that I can say is even partly a negative is the extra ridges on the top. I have no idea what sort of handle/tool they are fitted for because just about every work blade I know uses the two inner ridges for locking onto the blade (I'm sure some of you know). Regardless, these blades are about the sharpest I've ever had and they don't seem to be getting dull any time soon.

Compared to Irwin Bi-Metal blade

These Lenox Gold blades come in identical plastic dispensers as the Irwin Bi-Metal blades, both Made in Mexico (which is a plus, anything is better than Made in China). These must be made in the exact same factory since they share so many similarities.

The plastic dispensers share the same bad design because the blades won't slide out unless you get it perfectly aligned with the slot and sometimes the blades get stuck together, so taking them out of the dispenser can be frustrating. I like to do it the proven way -- the plastic cover pops off easily by prying open the tabs.

Both are pre-oiled.

Both brands are exactly 0.245" thick measured with my precision caliper. They have exactly the same double taper in the same geometry to create the edge.

The Lenox blade is also Bi-Metal, so it looks like the only differences are that the Lenox blade has a thin titanium coating on the edge, and Lenox has four notches for alignment in the knife holder rather than two.

Both are very sharp, excellent utility blades. Minus one star for the poor dispenser design.
