When Lexen sent me the kit they sent 4 front door pre-cut window tint patterns - 2 for each door since I did not need the back windows tinted. This was good just in case I messed up one of the windows I would have a backup tint for the window.
As far as the reviews stating that the tint was wrinkled when they got it, that is partially true. However; bear in mind that your kit will have a whole sheet of tint with the pattern partially cut out in the middle of the sheet. The only part that was wrinkled was outside of the pattern, the tint inside of the pattern itself was absolutely fine.
I am DEFINITELY not a pro at installing tint, that can be a labor intensive tedious job. But even with my mediocre skillset here is how they came out - (see photos and good luck!!!)
Now, on to some tips...
Make sure you have a clean flat surface big enough to lay your tint out on; like a kitchen table.
When removing the cut outs, remove the excess around the cutout and don't try to remove the clear backing as well. You'll end up tearing the cut outs. This, to me, is more of a scored tint and not so much "precut".
Get a cheap spray bottle from Lowe's or Walmart and a travel size bottle of baby shampoo. Baby shampoo is the key. Most other shampoos or soaps have detergents in them that will actually make it difficult to move the tint when you're trying to put in place.
Clean your windows with a razor blade scraper and be careful on factory tinted windows as you could remove the coating. Just keep the razor blade flat and you'll be fine. Do NOT use a Razor blade to clean rear windows with the defroster lines or antenna lines. You will cut those little lines and the defroster or antenna will become useless. Instead, use a very mild scouring pad like the one on the back side of a sponge used for kitchen cleaning.
I hope this review helps and you are as satisfied as I am with the way it turns out.
This tint is still in pristine condition. No fading and has not turned purple. Still looks as good as the day I installed it.
***2nd UPDARE*** 2/6/2020
I recently bought a 2017 F250 and ordered this tint again. And, again, the tint was cut to perfection, the packaging was perfect, and the company was amazing to deal with. I ruined one of the pieces and contacted them for a replacement. They resolved my stupidity by sending me the piece I needed at a discounted rate. I will always buy my tint from them. HUGE THANKS TO THESE GUYS.
7 Month update. This tint is complete garbage. The window tint has already turned purple. And of course, they offer no warranty or guarantee on fading. Better to spend a little more to get better quality or you will be changing your tint very soon.
Perfect fit for my 2009 Hyundai accent HB. Didn't have any issues shrinking or installing. Covered the matrix around the glass pretty well if you worked at it. Time will tell if there will any pop-corning or fading.
I did screw up on a couple of windows because I was impatient. And peeling it off the sheet can be tricky. Do it slow, it can tear, have someone keep spraying soapy water on it while peeling away, or get a third arm.
Taking it off in case you just don't like it or want to redo is very easy. I was concerned about that and after 2 weeks I decided to redo and just had to pick real good enough to grab a corner, lift, and it comes off clean
Finally, clean windows real good before applying. Run a razor blade across it to get what you can't see. One stuck boogie can ruin the whole job.
MAKE SURE YOU READ THE INSTRUCTIONS FIRST. I didnt and pulled the tint off the liner, rather than the surround off the liner first, and then the window section second. This means I ripped one of the windows. Knowing the company would send me another free I didnt contact them because it was my error and didnt want them to have to pay for it. Its minor.
Cant wait to do it again on my second car. I know itll come out perfect now that I've done 7 windows on my other car.
If you’ve ever titnted car windows you’ll know what I mean. If you’ve never tinted car windows you might want to watch some YouTube videos, it’s not that easy to do, but pre-cut tint makes it a lot easier.
My tint was wrinkle free and in perfect condition, I used a “bondo” scraper that I got from autozone for less than $2. Finally, I used 2 drops of dish soap in a sprayer of distilled water. You’d think it was done by a pro!
