I just set these up yesterday so I can't speak for longevity yet, but in terms of meeting my expectations in providing a large combined display, yes, I would recommend these highly for the price. Are they not as sharp as the 27" Dells right next to it which are also running 1920x1080...well, no. Do I notice...no, not really. I was simply looking for more screen real estate providing a larger view of documents, etc., and they are perfect for that.
I have these on a c-clamp post which I was using to hold 4 27" monitors. I removed one of the arms so there was just a single, dual 100x100 vesa mount arm. I found adapters in my stash of old computer stuff which I attached to the 200x100 vesa mount on the monitor and that allowed me to attach it to my existing 100x100 vesa mounts. A hassle, no doubt. You can get similar adapters here on Amazon as others have stated. See the pic behind my desk (the best I can do). It's not very clear but you'll see how I've mounted them. The monitors are relatively light compared to years/models of yesteryear. Mine are sitting right on the desk top. If I had stacked them then I would have to look up all day. I also have mine pushed together just a bit to minimize the two bezels between them. It helps a bit if you are stretching a single window across both monitors as I mostly do.
I've also adjusted the brightness down to 50%....otherwise these are wicked bright and staring at them all day would burn my retinas I'm sure. I'll continue to play with settings to get them right over time.
These are attached to both my work laptop and my home PC, as are all of my monitors. They all have dual inputs like all modern monitors. I have the display port on the LG's attached to my Dell laptop docking station and the HDMI is attached to my home PC. My home PC has native support for 3 monitors and my laptop itself has one, and the docking station gives it one more. To hook up 5 total monitors I use inexpensive external graphics adapters by Plugable. One end hooks up to the monitor itself (HDMI, DVI, VGA or Display Port), and the other end is simply a USB connection and goes into any USB port on your PC, Laptop or docking station. And, in seconds you have multiple displays. Check Amazon for these. They are relatively cheap at $35-50 or so. I've been using them for years.
Bottom line, unless I have reliability problems with these, they are certainly what I expected and paid for at an incredibly low price. If you have questions, let me know.
Update--- they are very glossy and reflective. Two walls in my home office have big windows and I have to keep the curtains closed on one wall in the morning and then on the other wall in the afternoon as the sun moves around from one side to the other. Otherwise it would be a real struggle to be able to see clearly what is on the monitors. In spite of this I still enjoy the monitors and they work for me it's just that I have to accommodate them in this way .
1) VESA mounting is 200x100 so it won't work out of the box with a most multi-monitor arm systems. Amazon sells an adapter plate (for 100x100 mounting) for $10 and I just ordered it.
2) It comes with an external power brick. I probably should have looked at the monitor specs more closely but I guess I was just accustomed to having the power supply integrated. It makes for a cleaner installation.
3) The biggest disappointment is that the screen is very reflective (i.e. "gloss" finish), which might be fine for a TV but it is difficult for a workstation monitor. My IPS231s are not reflective ("matte" finish) at all and my eye strain is minimized. I can see my reflection like a mirror in this 32" monitor all day long. I wish manufacturers did a better job specifying / advertising the screen finish so that consumers could make a more informed decision. A lot of people will probably love the gloss finish; I'm just not one of them. Here is a good article if you are interested in learning more:
I hope this helps. I'm going to keep it and give it to my wife for her monitor.
