Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.

I am SO tired of reviews that criticize the smallest thing. I did my research and didn't expect this TV to perform like a $1200 Sony. I am just an average guy and not an expert by any means but, for the price you can't beat this TV. Do your research. See what connections come with the TV, if it doesn't have all you need don't buy it. Don't whine about the stand, it holds the TV up just fine. I don't know about you but I don't move my TV around much. If there is a pixel out some where I can't tell. How big is a pixel any way? I have it hooked up to an antenna and get 59 local channels, which are all digital and some in HD. We use ROKU which has many different broadcast qualities. The picture is only as good as the signal coming in. The TV performs well and does what it supposed to.
Was waiting for a 39-40" LED/LCD TV for less than
$350USD. Did a fair amount of research, trying to avoid
brands that seem to have a lot of power supply problems(blown caps).
Also wanted brand that made their own glass(LG supplies glass to Sony ;^))
Read a lot of reviews. This set seemed to fill the bill.
Pros: Excellent picture for sub $350USD TV.
Using "Picture Wizard" utility, and setting the color temp.
on the cool side, among several other tweaks, gave
me a very life like, clear and vibrant picture.
Ran a few Blu-ray DVDs and was gobsmacked at the
detail and color fidelity in a room lit for evening viewing.
I tried out the features on comparably priced TVs
at the local stores, but this TV seemed to have the right
mix of set-up features to really set the picture the way YOU like it.
As a photographer, getting the color temp., gamma, and
palette right is everything. You have pretty much complete
freedom to adjust these and more with this TV.
Having watched cable and Blu-ray on this TV, the 60Hz
refresh doesn't seem to be a problem with me.
There are adjustments to compensate for artifacts
for media that seems to look "better" or smoother at 120Hz refresh,
but I haven't needed them.
Cons: Sound is not great. The small oval speakers point straight down.
and sounds very "tinny" and hollow. Even with all the sound settings tweaked, the sound is at
best mediocre.
Buy the TV for the excellent picture and wealth of settings, but at the same time
get a sound bar, or descent powered speakers. Hi-Fi would be ideal.
*Never been a better time to sell your old TV and upgrade to a new TV
*Huge improvements in picture quality over 2010 LED HDTV for streaming Amazon Prime, Netflix and Blu-Ray DVD
*Bought 2013 LG 39" LED HDTV 1080p 60Hz for ~$350 on Amazon Warehouse deals in Very Good condition
*Sold 2010 Samsung LED HDTV 32" 1080p 60Hz for $250 on Amazon in Very Good condition Samsung UN32C5000 32-Inch 1080p 60 Hz LED HDTV (Black)
*Net cost of upgrade $100
*Original cost of Samsung was $650 = cost to own 2011-2013 ~$400 or $200 per year after selling for $250
*Additional savings expected from new TV due to better energy star rating = lower power usage
This TV was a replacement for a 2010 Samsung 32" LED TV that I sold. Buying the TV used through Amazon Warehouse deals, I was able to get it for only about $350 after selling my 2010 Samsung for $250, i.e. only $100 for the upgrade which is huge. For $100, I went from 32" to 39" and picture quality is so much better that it is making me want to watch more movies. Both TV's are 1080p with 60hz refresh. I cannot say enough about how impressed I am with the LG picture quality. It makes me think that there must have been big improvements in chip design over the past few years. At the same time prices came way down. When I bought my 32" Samsung in 2011, it cost $650. Now for $350, I am able to get an albeit used TV that is way better for only $350. A note here is that the manufacture date on the LG was July 2013, the same month that I received the TV. In other words, this 'used' TV was fresh off the manufacturing line in Mexico. When buying used products through Amazon Warehouse deals, my suggestion is to pay the extra $10 or $20 to get the items in Very Good condition but not Like New. Mine was listed as Very Good and it was so new that the protective plastic strips were still on the sides of the TV. The problem with Like New is that prices are basically the same as New. If you want a deal and do not want to get an overused product, go for Very Good.
