Love all the settings. It's like magic. When I tell to reheat a cup of tea, it is always perfect no matter how big the cup or now small. Also cooking meat or vegetables. Do wish they had a bacon setting though. Having the fan cover the entire stove is a Luxury.

Microwave failed after 10 months, three calls into service with no call back, (they do not pick up phone & even though their message states they will get "right back to you" well not so much).. I was planning to do the entire kitchen in LG, half way there, but now switching to Samsung.. Life is not so good with this product..

Best OTR microwave available

Added 2/24/2018: FYI...At this point, more than two years of constant use. Reiterate previous praise.

Here is original post:

Giving four stars instead of five only to acknowledge that OTR microwave venting is inferior to dedicated hood venting regardless of brand...but this one really does come close. Among OTR microwaves, I regard this as best available. If shopping today, I'd buy it again.

My configuration vents to the outside directly through an outside wall so easy install for me. Venting performance is best I've seen for any OTR microwave. I cannot comment on venting performance if installed using no external vent.

400cfm vent-fan is better than most and quieter than most...vastly superior to previous GE space-saver it replaced. The extending vent in front is unique and increases venting performance by covering an extra 5-6" of the range-top when extended. In-use, this is a HUGE plus compared to units (like previous GE) that don't have it. Quick/easy to use and It really works! If you're stuck with no alternative but OTR microwave venting, this is the one to get.

Range-light is front-mounted (unlike many) so it illuminates the range top very well. Previous GE had rear-positioned light and was nearly worthless.

Microwave performance on par with any of the others and controls are clear and easy.

Extremely disappointed with the quality of the product & support. Microwave stopped heating after 18 months of use. I called LG Appliance Service & talked to a lady named Mickey and she said parts are under warranty but not labor, so you need call their authorized Repair shop only to get it fixed....LG contact 3 party contractors for the repair.

I would expect more when you are selling your microwave at $500-$600 range.

Lost a customer for Life!

Overall, very nice. I've only had it a short while so I can't attest to its durability, but looks and works great. Niggling complaints:
1. My biggest complaint is more of an annoyance than anything. There's no way to have the clock display remain on; it has a 5-minute standby mode that can't be disabled. There's an "energy saver" button that really just toggles the clock display on/off, but once on it will shut off again in 5 minutes. The energy saver button should actually toggle the standby function, but it doesn't.
2. The buttons are a little hard to push.
