If it breaks down, expect delays. I have been without a washing machine for three weeks and counting. The washing machine started having problems almost immediately. I bought it for the capacity, and the sensor broke down the first month, and the machine kept giving me 'uneven load' messages almost every single time, along with the shaking and 'walking' the machine was doing. It did not matter what type of load I had in there. Even when I had it on cleaning cycle without a load. The sensors are on back order, apparently, and God knows for how long. The local service contact: they don't even answer the phone. LG customer service: sorry about the inconvenience, but you have to wait. Three weeks without laundry for a family of 4 in the summer time? I am about to go nuts. So frustrated!!!

I bought this set from Home Depot 2 weeks ago. My mom has the front load option, which I love, so I decided to give this set a try. I scoured reviews for a month before deciding, so it wasn't a quick decision. I tried to leave a less than stellar review at Home Depot, and I got an e-mail saying that my review was denied. I was careful not to mention other product names or retailers, and I pointed out the pros and cons of the set. Now it makes me wonder how many bad reviews this set ACTUALLY HAS, if they won't let you submit a bad one. I tried to submit it twice, denied both times. So, here I am.
Pros- Uses less water, so the dry time is shorter
Has a lot of wash options
    Looks pretty
Cons- When I wash my husbands work clothes that smell like grease and sweat, they come out after washing smelling like grease and sweat. I read a review at Home Depot that mentioned this, but hoped it was just a picky consumer. Sadly, not so much. I have noticed that many items (our new comforter, dog blankets, etc) have had the same problem. Nothing comes out smelling cleaner or any better than when it went in.
The wash tub makes a loud metal on metal clunking sound when it moves. The tube rocks side to side to gauge load size and when it washes. Sometimes it sounds like there is broken metal inside.
You can't use those downy freshner pellets (the kind you add to the washer pre-wash). The clothes never get wet enough to rinse it out, and the result is you will have them melted and stuck to everything in the load. This makes no sense to me, as it goes through a wash cycle and a spin cycle and they never wash or rinse off. To me, this says a lot about how well it cleans clothes.

Personally, I wouldn't recommend this set.

My machine is less than 6 months old. I have not had a clean load of clothes since I purchased this washer. Water levels are too low. Wash and rinse cycles are too short, but it does a lot of spinning. Clothes come out in a tangled ball and unwearable unless ironed. Forget hang-dry unless you love wrinkles. Read all of the reviews. This machine has problems. It has a huge tub, but the manual included with the machine recommends loads up to 8 lbs only. This does not included large comforters or even a full load of jeans. Also, you cannot wash water resistant or water proof items. Taking many more loads to the laundromat. Clothes come out of the rinse cycle with streaks and pet hair on them - not enough water used to wash them away. LG customer service responded to my complaints by asking what I was doing wrong. Do not be fooled by good reviews unless you have big money to waste. I will buy another new machine and never another LG product.

Bought this machine for the capacity of doing blankets, pillows, etc., without the center post, thought this would be a good option.

Large Loads get very little water, and small loads get even less water.

Even heavy quilts, on Heavy Duty, do not get enough water to wash. (Customer Service told me this machine is not for doing "bulky" items???)
The only load that gets water is towels even if there is one towel, the machine fills up completely.

after chatting with customer service, the lady on the line tried to tell me it was the laundry soap that cleans not the WATER. Whatever,
no water means the laundry soap isn't going to work either.

Very frustrated, wish they had a buy back program, it's over my 30 days to return, thought I would just get used to a new way to wash, and figure it out
but find it's not worth messing with.

I agree with all of the other complaints (with the exception of the exploding machine - have yet to experience that phenomenon!) and want to add the one that absolutely makes me utter obscenities as though I have turrets! On EVERY load, if I have more than one item with long legs (pants) or long sleeves, the KNOT that I have to untangle (which usually tangles everything in that load) at the end of the cycle is MADDENING! This machine has ruined several of our long sleeve (knit) items, by stretching them beyond repair. I HATE this machine and resent how much I paid for it at Home Depot a little less than two years ago. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!

Purchased this at Home Depot about 2 years ago because I loved how it looked. I also liked the extra large capacity.

I use this machine to run 2-3 loads every week. Sometimes 2 load and sometimes 3, depending on my load. I haven't had any mold or odor problems and I haven't noticed any lack of water. If anything, I think it puts in more water than it should because the machine rotates the dry load to sense how big it is. Problem is that rotating the dry load makes the load higher in certain areas, which is why I think I get more water than needed.

As for how well the machine cleans, I don't have any complaints. My clothes come out clean.

    There are 3 issues though:
    (1) there is always water in the bleach reservoir, which is annoying. After reading a review, I think I know how to clean it out now.
    (2) the agitating motion really twists your clothes toghether. It's a struggle getting the clothes out of the dryer because they are all tangled together. This means it's really heavy to take it out as one huge clump. Or, you have to really work at untangling items. I'm good about putting my stuff into washer bags so I haven't had any issues with knit items stretching out.
    (3) Lint and other gunk collect along the top rim. I'm not sure how to clean that out because the tub clean cycle definitely doesn't do it.
