Boy was I wrong. 1080p is just not a high enough screen resolution for a 34" monitor, perhaps unless you sit unusually far back from your monitor. Even compared to the 27" 16:9 1080p monitors I use at work, the pixel density on this thing is just painfully low. I found the gaps between individual pixels extremely noticeable - not as bad as the "screen door effect" of using a first-generation VR headset, but definitely unpleasant.
On the bright side, I can report that the higher refresh rate and G-Sync really do make a huge difference for first-person shooters. Particularly in Apex Legends, I used to have a ton of trouble tracking moving targets, and once I started firing I'd frequently lose track of what I was actually shooting at due to the muzzle flash. I thought maybe I was just getting old and my FPS days were done, but at 144Hz the problem has been dramatically reduced, and I'm consistently doing more damage and getting more kills in every match.
Nevertheless, I can't recommend this monitor because the picture quality just isn't good enough in my opinion. I ended up returning it, but I couldn't go back to 60Hz, so I splurged and bought the Alienware AW3418DW instead. It's expensive and only goes up to 120Hz, but it's worth it for the higher screen resolution and improved picture quality, IMO.
My recommendation is, if you must have ultrawide, save your money and get a 3440 x 1440 120Hz monitor. If you're okay with 16:9, get a 1440p 144Hz monitor instead.

At the end of August I contacted LG regarding how to get my new monitor repaired. I'd ordered it over Amazon and the screen became distorted after about five weeks of use.
LG customer service originally told me that they could have a technician come to my house to repair the monitor. I then awaited them to call me to tell schedule an appointment. After several days I called LG again to check in. They had discovered that there was no repair technician local to me. I would have to send my monitor in. No one called me to tell me this, they waited for me to call them back.
I eventually got a shipping label and sent the monitor in to LG around the 5th of September. I received no further updates from LG until I emailed them about three weeks later. I was told that the monitor repair was "pending" and there was no further information. I called LG again on about the 9th of October and was again told that the repair was pending and they were waiting for a part. I then left my home on business for three weeks. Upon returning, on the 30th of October I called LG again and was told the exact same thing. The repair was "pending" and they were missing a part.
I then called LG back every two days until I was told that the repair could not be completed and I'd be receiving a refund or a replacement. Then, unexpectedly, the monitor was repaired and returned to me around the 7th of November. However, I mailed the power adapter in with my monitor in September as LG customer service recommended. The monitor was returned without the power adapter. I called LG immediately to tell them that I needed my adapter returned. They agreed to do so. Today (November 15th) I received a package from LG with... the power chord. But not the adapter.
The chord is cheap and easy to replace. If I was missing the chord I would have just bought a new one. I needed the specific and expensive adapter. I've called LG and am told I will receive it... in 3-10 business days.
I bought this monitor in July. I have only been able to use it for five weeks. The rest of the 4 months that I have owned this monitor it has been damaged and unusable, it has been in the LG repair facility (status pending,) or it has been returned to me but without the power adapter/chord. At every single stage of this repair experience LG has disappointed me. They have given me wrong information or no information at all. They have waited for me to decide to call them and check for updates instead of providing me with updates. And finally they returned only a part of the product. I still don't even know if the repair worked because I can't turn the monitor on.
This has been the most disappointing technology customer service experience of my life. When I was told that I would be getting a refund I was very happy because I knew I would use that money to buy a monitor from a different company. I am eager to get my adapter so I can see if the repair was even successful.
It is a nice monitor (when it is working) but I can promise you, I will never purchase LG electronics again.
The monitor was repaired in about 3 days which I was impressed after reading the previous reviews. However, the repair center then shipped my monitor to a different address instead of the one I supplied. So now my monitor is going to an address in another state roughly 2000 miles away. I then contacted LG and the response I got was: "You need to contact FedEx and have them modify the shipment". I contacted FedEx and unless I work for LG I can't modify their shipment as I'm the customer.
Case just got escalated, and my monitor is due to be delivered to a foreign address tomorrow. Who knows how this will end. Buyer beware, very unprofessional, would not recommend the product or the company.
What I mean by that is enabling things like the 1ms blurr reduction feature drops the brightness quite a bit. Or enabling HDR in Windows will force you to you to have to readjust all the color settings on the monitor for it to look right.
Also, for anyone wondering about pixelation at Ultrawide 1080P, don't worry about it. This monitor looks crisp in my heavy usage of Word and Excel and is clear and smooth when gaming.

You have 2 game modes to choose from and it allows you to adjust the other settings including HDR, Power lED light, response time, etc.
The packing was good and took less than 5mins to assemble and it's height-adjustable as well which is the best part of this monitor.
Overall- very good monitor- if you have the budget, go for it.
Pretty happy with it. Also, some people said that the DPI is low for 34 inch, believe me, without a magnifying glass or binoculars you wont notice that.
The Pros: The colors on this one looks nice. Rich colors, not overly saturated(unless you want that, the Vivid mode does that). Color representation is quite good for the price point.
Good viewing angles. No color fading or dimming. The IPS panel does it job pretty well at that.
Massive screen space which over compensates for any productive work, be it editing or typing. Side by side windows will be quite useful.
Texts are crisp but you need to figure out which mode works for you. There are a bunch of color modes to work with.
Fast response rate of 144Hz. My jump from 60 Hz to 144Hz felt significant.
If you've a decent enough graphics card, the 144Hz refresh rate will really pop up in games.
Cons: The HDR mode is a gimmick. It works on a software level and doesn't really provide a wider color gamut.
The aspect ration of 16:9 means most movies and shows will have a thick bar on 2 sides or all 4 sides, depending on the video being played.
4K content will look a tad grainy (or maybe its just me) as the monitor reduces the pixel count to fit the screen ratio.

1) The stand has a massive footprint (10 inches x 19 inches) which takes a lot of real estate on my desk. So much so that the feet are on my desk mat. Not to mention the stand carries the monitor 3 inches forward. Plus 2 more inches when you have the cable management clip attached.
2) The speakers don't work. I thought it may be the cables, so I tried my 4K-rated HDMI, and my 1.4 and 1.2 DisplayPort cables. Still no sound. There is sound registering on the device manager, and I can plug in headphones and get sound that way. But the speakers themselves don't work. And none of LG's online solutions were of any help. Apparently this is a common issue with all of LG's monitors.
3) Cable management is a joke. That silly piece of plastic doesn't even snap on securely to hold my DisplayPort cable in place. Not to mention you'll have to move the stand forward 2 more inches when you attach the clip.
4) The power cable is too short. You need to make sure your power strip or wall socket is less than 3 feet away from your monitor. Either that, or you'll have to move your desk closer to your power outlet, or use an extension cord. There's barely enough length to plug this thing in, let alone cable manage.
I was so excited to replace my dual screen setup and declutter my desk -- it's the whole reason why I picked this up. But all I got was more headaches. I shouldn't have to rearrange my workspace, or buy a bigger desk, or get a smaller desk mat just to accommodate a monitor. Sadly, I'll probably be returning this.
Happy shopping.
