Bought it at Lowes during COVID and brought it home in our SUV.
Total pain to get thru the laundry room door, even after pulling the box off. Remember to buy new water lines with the stainless steel mesh jacket (to prevent massive water leak). Washer came with a discharge tube but we needed to add two additional zip ties to keep it secured without fear of a leak. Use teflon tape on the pipe screw threads to get a water tight seal.
You'll need two 11/16 or 17mm wrenches and a magnetic bubble level to adjust the legs. Spend a lot of time on this to minimize vibration issues.
We stacked our old Samsung Gas Dryer on top and the brackets did not fit like they did on the previous Samsung and Whirlpool washers. Going to have to build a custom wood bracket to secure the dryer to the washer so it won't slide off.
The washer has two cold settings: cold (it brings super cold water up to some determined temperature) and tap cold (it just takes the cold water as is from the pipe. Probably useful in colder climates to get a consistent wash, but meh for here in California.
There is a power button that you have to use to turn on the washer before you can use the dial to choose your program. The screen to the right of the dial is a PAIN to read in low light. I printed stickers next to it for the key settings of OXY (presoak), Delay, Temperature and Cold Wash (darks).
There is a dial setting for "download" that uses your iphone or Android to download LG's ThinQ app. It basically hooks your washer up to WiFi to let you know when the washer is done and lets you create your own preset to make a custom washer setting. Used it a few times but never sure who set it last and what settings it has so I avoid using it. Did not like that the app REQUIRES you to give your location and birthdate info to use. Should be better privacy laws.
The Washer is a lot louder than our whirlpool when filling with water. The hoses move around. I'm guessing it has a smaller intake or too sudden of a shut off. There hasn't been much of a vibration issue so far. All in all a good washer. Will see how long it lasts...
After 2.5 years the motor went bad-
Not covered under warranty. Even though front label says “10 year warranty on motor”. Prices to get fixed 400.00 . I’ve had other machines that have last 10-20 years! This is a piece of JUNK!!!!
