THE LIGHT: How Low Level Light Therapy (LLLT) healed my Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), and the struggle to deliver this remedy to those with Alzheimer’s Disease. Kindle Edition
Studies in human clinical trials stop and stabilize degeneration. When used with neurofeedback, cognition improves. Scientific studies show how certain frequencies of energy, including near infrared light, ultrasound, and radio frequencies, induce biological activity that results in healing. Informed public awareness can get these technologies to the clinic. If you have a loved one with Alzheimer's or TBI, this book can make a difference.

About the Author
ABOUT THE AUTHOR Michael Weiner started his business career at Xerox Corporation in 1975, eventually working in the marketing headquarters in Rochester, NY. In 1999 he began working with pacemaker pioneer, Wilson Greatbatch*. Together they tackled the problem of making pacemakers safe with MRI devices, working with industry and the FDA via a CRADA (Collaborative Research and Development Agreement), eventually selling the technology to Medtronic. In 2010, on a trip to Vienna, Austria, Mike met with technology expert Armin Bernhard, Ph.D. an inventor of one of the cochlear implants. Dr. Bernhard first alerted Mike that Alzheimer’s and other CNS diseases appeared to be the result of an energy deficiency, which could be resolved with non-invasive therapy, such as transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), delivered transcranially and non-invasively (and is approved for use for depression in the US). Back in the US, Mike learned of Marvin Berman, Ph.D.’s pioneering work in Philadelphia, at the Quietmind Foundation, combining light therapy (LLLT, aka photobiomodulation) in combination with neurofeedback, for a revolutionary solution, working for Alzheimer’s. Dr. Berman described the energy therapy as a form of “vitamins, not antibiotics.” Mike then learned of research led by Dallas Hack, MD MPH, heading neuroscience for the US Army, in traumatic brain injury (TBI ) that led to the discovery that infrared light helped soldiers dealing with TBI. The NIH was briefed on this solution, working in humans, as far back as 2009. Mike took it to the Alzheimer’s Association in 2015. There is a Catch 22, described in this book, as to why something that works, without harm, can be ignored, by science and industry. This book is to provide the community of concerned citizens, scientists, and clinicians, needed information on where a promising solution is now hiding in plain sight. Public and media awareness of this opportunity should very much help move it forward. Mike lives in Estero, Florida, north of Naples. bio: www.lifeboat.com/ex/bios.michael.l.weiner --This text refers to the paperback edition.

Michael Weiner's latest book, THE LIGHT reporting on how Low Level Light Therapy (LLLT) can assist with various neurodegenerative diseases is an excellent read. I found this book packed with valuable information. As a geriatric myself I am confronted with my reality. All of us must confront our future. As one gets older we should become aware of those challenges of aging, and the debilitating diseases we and our loved ones may confront. I highly recommend Mr. Weiner's THE LIGHT as he explains the travails of bringing promising new medical technologies to the market. If he is not heard properly all of us will be the victims of the Establishment that keeps such state-of-the-art technologies in the dark!

This book was one of the books that I was looking for. One of the reasons why the author, Michael Weiner, wrote this book was to educate the public that there is a solution. There are many people who want a full recovery rather than live with disability and in present situation, you cannot find solution unless you make a considerable effort to look for the therapies and treatments. They are out there, but most of them are not covered by insurance that leads to the second reason the author wrote this book by saying that the industry, government, and foundations must work hard to make these very new therapies and treatments available to the public. Mr. Michael Weiner provided the wealth of information in his book so that we now have hopes to make our loved ones get well.

The Light by Michael Weiner was a huge disappointment. The 76 page book is filled with page after page of color copies of advertisements off the internet. The claims in these advertisements are largely unsupported by scientific research. Weiner is irresponsible for promoting these unproven technologies and seems to be in invested with these companies or in some other way benefiting from advertising for these companies. If he was not, then I would suspect the companies would come after him for copyright infringement for using their materials without permission. Many of the images show patients getting low-level infrared light by some device delivering infrared light through their hair and scalp. Published research has shown that low-level infrared light does not penetrate hair. So, he is essentially promoting a scam treatment promoted by the companies he features. Our research has shown that low-level infrared light does not penetrate human skin and others have shown that infrared light penetrates less than 0.87 mm into human skin. Moreover, his book reads like a high school essay. The interpretation of the science is primitive at best. There are published articles in the scientific literature which are accessible to the public, well-written, and present the same topic in much more readable form without buying an over-priced and poorly written book. For example, google "Theodore Henderson infrared TBI" for several user-friendly articles with correct information.

A little hard to read. He would have benefited from an editor, and focuses imho too much on healthcare money and politics. But having said that, this has much useful info about alternative therapies for brain injury, and it is a treasure trove of useful links which he freely shares.

Not very good

A very badly written book and mainly copy and paste from the internet. The free sample was good, but the rest I just skipped through bored stiff. The links to websites didn't even work.
T. Henderson is right about this book, but he might be wrong about LLLT not being able to get into the skull. I have a 210mW unit for pain, and I can shine it through my fingers and through the top part at the top of my hand where the knuckle is which is about 3.5cm thick, and that's only the visable 660nm red, the infrared will travel further.

I am a big fan of Dr. Norman Doige and his books about neuroplasticity, healing brain disease/injury. This book is right on point. LLLT is well documented and under-used technology. I plan on following protocol for my ABI (Aquired Brian Injury) and my husband's Parkingon's Disease.
