So, the existing installed bulb failed after some two plus years [note that when I installed that bulb I immediate restocked my spare by buying this one!]. That was in June, 2013. I installed this bulb, purchased in advance of need so as to have it on hand, and in it failed in late August, 2013, after some two months of use, dusk to dawn, in the season of shortest nights.
Guess it is back to Home Depot and Lowes!
I replaced my old style outside lights with these.
A much smaller foot print but still puts out a great deal of bright light.
The bulbs seem to last a couple of years on average.
That's burning every night/365 days a year.
I have them switch on with a auto calender light switch that tracks the daylight hours.
I recommend these as well as the auto light switches.
A good value.
