The story is about Jay and Julia, he is 7 years older then her and in the same MC as her dad and his. When she is 16 and he is 23 they start dating (but do not become intimate till she is 18). A misunderstanding causes Julia to leave Jay and not return for a couple years. When she does return there is an incident that brings them back into each others lives and the story progresses from there.
The positives- I liked the hero; he is alpha of course, a little possessive and I liked the two of them together as a couple. The writing is pretty good although there were a few typos and missed words etc. but nothing majorly distracting.
The negatives- For a short story, it did kind of drag in places and had it been a longer book I might have stopped reading it. I also have an issue with the price; $3.99 is a little much for 118 pages AND I had no idea it was an incomplete story when I bought the book. If there was a HEA instead of a cliffhanger (or at least been informed in the blurb that there is a sequel), I would be happier.
Overall, it was an okay read. The story was pretty good and of course, it ended in a place where you want to know what happens. I can't really say I would recommend it because of the price, page count and cliffhanger. At the end of the book, it noted that the sequel will be out in October, so my advice is to wait till both books are out or a price drop on book one.
I proceeded to try and get thru the story but found myself uninterested in the couple after this. I did not finish this story.
