I'm currently using this wire to repair a damaged trailer loading ramp, and I doubt I'll use it again. Spatter is terrible, welds aren't smooth, and porosity is the worst I've seen of any wire I've used. Any time I use a new brand of wire I know it'll act differently in my particular machine and can usually dial it in with a pass or two to minimize the spatter and get good welds. No such luck with this wire, it was laying the same nasty welds after 8 hrs of trying different settings as it was when I started. Today I found truth in the old "Grinders and paint..." adage. I only changed from my usual INE wire because I wanted a wire rated for multi-pass, but as soon as I'm done with this job I'm going back with the INE. MUCH less spatter, no porosity, and much smoother welds. Live & learn, I guess.

Pros: way less splatter, clean wire
Cons: cost..
Compare to Hobart and some other harbor F. Brand, there about 40% less splatter then those cheaper brands, but a lot of that depends on good nozzle control, angle, feed, and material cleaning. A little change in angle makes a big difference!
The pic is .125 angle iron before any grinding, ran the wire brush and as you can see little splatter. I did have trouble laying down 2nd layer, but that a probably just my skill level problem.
As for cost, it little pricy, as you only get 1lb of wire, wile most spools are 2lb and for about the same price.
At end of the day, yes I recommend this wire if your doing new builds or At least decent clean material. I just ordered my second roll, and might just buy a box next time.
As for cost, stuff is a bit

Hobbiest, ran through harbor F. Welder, mainly .074 to .187 material doing fillet and butt welds, did about 237" (~20 feet) of welding before running out, mind you this is a 1 pound spool.

I used the .030 in a hobart 140 mig 110v welder. I tried this because I was having trouble welding a steal axle to a piece of metal. Having tried another brand of .035. I found switching to a slightly smaller wire .030 increased the penetration and the intercore wire worked great welded the steal axle material to the plate steal even with a small welding machine Hobart 140 110v. It's more expensive then other wire but it welds great!

Purchased item arrived through mail system on time. I went with this brand because its a well known and good brand.
I just chose this brand because they are known for good products. I have already applied wire to machine and started working on DIY projects. I started with making my own custom chain chipping hammer and used this wire to do so. This wire works superb with my welder, smooth and quick tacs and beads.

The only issue I have with this product is its brittleness...be careful when loading as the factory bend will break when straightening allowing the spool to release unexpectedly. The product welds are smooth with minimal spatter.

I thought my welder was messed up. I had the wrong spool. I had mig wire. Instead of flux core not everything is smooth. Thank you.

I had no problem with this wire when I first tried it, I ordered a second spool and noticed a break while unspooling, thought nothing of it then it broke and jammed pulled it out and looking at it and it just broke in my hand while holding it. I don’t have time to take it apart and pull it out of the guide. I’m done after two different spoils doing the same thing.

This wire is very forgiving. It works great even if your settings or technique aren't good. I've used it in both transformer and inverter machines and it always works well. I see a lot of complaints about the spools only being one pound instead of two. Yes, Lincoln makes more money that way and some people will feel tricked. But there might be more to it. I notice when I get near the end of a two pound spool, there's wavering and inconsistency of the wire feed because the wire has been so tightly coiled. And I've also noticed the Lincoln wire is very stiff, if it came on two pound spools it might suffer even more from that feed inconsistency. Just a thought, who knows. I think this wire is worth the extra money. If I was tighter for money I'd probably buy a ten pound roll and try to respool some one pound spools.

Not good, not made in Canada anymore
Reviewed in Canada on October 31, 2020Verified Purchase
No longer made in Canada, it's being made in China now, we just lost even more jobs here in Canada
I bought the Blue Demon stuff and it wets out better and gets great penetration at about 1/3 the price cheaper and it's made in the good ol US of A
China is getting to much work, we need work as well

Excullent mig wire

Very good welding wire, very easy to get good looking welds with fluidity of the melted metal.
Careful when clearing slag from part after welding.
This wire lays slag on top of weld thick and plenty.
