The photo I am attaching has 4 lights in it even though there is 6 spots. The photo was taken in the middle of the day and the lights were dimmed. I actually love how the lights in the photo looks but I feel that's not how they look when I am in the room, especially at night.
#1. They work great in our ceiling fan (VERY BRIGHT) thank God the light cover is a frosted white and not clear.
#2. So far there has been no flickering
#3. Not hearing a buzzing sound - except for the tinnitus I have in my ears!
#4. The reviews were saying it was taking 1.5 sec for the lights to turn on (really?!) That would not be a deal breaker for me...1.5 sec is really not a long time, people! When I flip the wall switch on the lights come on immediately.
Now the dining room is soooo well lit - looks like I'll have to do some major cleaning! LOL! Side note: at 3am this morning it looked like day time in the dining room!
We shall see how long they last will report back later.
As for how long they will last, I don't know for sure but when they do fail I'll be sure to post the date they failed. These were purchased in Aug 2016 and I'll be comparing them to the "Bogao 4-Pack 9w LED Candelabra E12 bulbs" this pack carries 3-bulbs for the same price as the Bogao 4-Pack ($22.99 a pack) so when I receive the Bogao pack i'll compare the quality to these and let you know the better bulb.
As for the missing one star, they have a shadow or something like a dark spot in the room facing the tip end of the bulb which was never present in my previous bulbs.
Our goal was the find the brightest and smallest energy savings compatible E12 LED bulb that could be installed in a Hunter brand ceiling fan enclosure. In our search, cost per a bulb was not a problem.
We purchased the Bogao (4 Pack) 9w LED E12 Bulbs to work in a non-dimmable ceiling fan and they didn’t work. We even tried them in several fans at a local lighting and accessories store and they only worked in two ceiling fans out of five made by different manufactures.
The ceiling fan we needed them to work in is the “HUNTER” brand. We tried these bulbs in a nightlight wall socket and they all worked fine as with the Lohas (3 Pack) 7w LED E12 Bulbs which was another option.
It seems the fan carries some sort of circuit that doesn’t seem to work with some of these bulbs. We tried several other 7w, 8w, 9w and 12w LED bulbs with an E12 adaptor and some worked while others didn’t.
We also tried several CFL bulbs using an E12 adapter in the same Hunter fan and NONE of the CFL’s worked. I think it maybe due to some sort of starter circuit used in the CFL bulbs that may be creating the problem (No Light Even Though The Bulbs Tested Perfect) The Bogao 9w LED bulbs did the same as the CFL’s.
The strange thing is that a 12w LED bulb from a different manufacture worked using an E12 to E27 socket adaptor in the same Hunter fan but the bulb was too large to get the lamp shade to fit on the fan which was not an option for us.
Anyway, the Bogao 9w didn’t work in the Hunter ceiling fan while the Lohas 7w LED E12 worked perfectly. We tried both the Bogao and the Lohas bulb in five different ceiling fans at the light and accessories store and the Bogao worked in two different fans while the Lohas worked in all five units perfectly.
Just as a test, we asked the store clerk if we could try the 12w LED with the E12 to E27 socket adapter in the five units they had on display and found that the 12w bulb worked perfectly which leads me to believe that it isn’t something to do with the wattage even though some ceiling fan manufactures limit wattage in order to pass energy saving standards or to avoid potential fire hazards by restricting the user from placing too much of a hot bulb in the fan.
Anyway both bulbs have their pros and cons:
Bogao 9w LED is approximately 18% brighter than the Lohas 7w LED which is really nice for reading. Both have the same daylight spectrum but the intensity of the Bogao 9w is greater because of the added wattage over the Lohas 7w.
Bogao 9w LED is a much longer bulb over the Lohas 7w LED by an inch. However, the shade over the Bogao LED’s can be removed if you need to place the bulb in a smaller shade or enclosure. (Not sure if the bulb is safe to use this way but it seems to work fine in my doorbell lamp) The width of both bulbs is pretty much the same.
The Bogao 9w carries more LED’s over the Lohas 7w which is why the Lohas 7w has a shaded spot at the tip of the bulb where as the Bogao 9w does not. (A shaded spot means that wherever the tip of the bulb points in the room, there is less illumination because of the positioning of the LED’s placed on the bulb)
The Bogao 9w LED carries 4 bulbs in the pack while the Lohas 7w LED carries 3 bulbs for the same price. (Price Paid $22.99 for each pack)
In closing, I found that the Lohas 7w LED pack to be the better choice for us, based upon the wide range of ceiling fans and lighting fixtures it was able to work in.
Paying $5.75 per a bulb that could only be used in certain fixtures didn’t seem like smart spending. Many times I’ve had to remove a bulb or two from one fixture to another until I got a replacement so the Lohas 7w LED was my perfect choice.
If you’re not going to be using the Bogao 9w LED’s in a ceiling fan or any finicky lighting fixture then the Bogao 9w bulb is a really bright LED that would be a cheaper option over the Lohas 7w LED.
