Backpacked in a area that didn’t require bear canisters. Read a lot of reviews about these bags and decided to try them out.. Worked great. No encounters with wild life wanting our food. Maybe we were lucky maybe it wasn’t the bags but hey how does anyone know. We traveled lighter this way and there is a lot of reviews that talk abt the seems ripping easily. Well, that could happen for sure! We were as careful as possible and didn’t overpack the bags and they were fine. Could see that it could have been an issue though. It would be amazing to have this company redo these bags with a stronger more reliable seem at the zipper.

Poor Quality. Broke before first use.
I don't like writing negative reviews, but this is the worst product I have ever ordered through Amazon.I ordered two packages each of two 12.25" X 20" bags. After opening one package, I filled one bag with food. When I went to seal the bag, I noticed the green section containing the seal had become separated from the clear portion of the bag, rendering it useless (first picture).Inspecting the second bag of the package, I notice the green sealable section is attached to the clear section by a very thin layer of some type of adhesive. There is a gap between the green and clear sections on both the exterior and interior of the bag, large enough for an object (such as a finger) to get in and potentially break the fragile seal (second picture).Further inspecting the bags, I notice extra green plastic on both ends of the green sealable section (third picture). This defect was present on both ends of both bags in the package, demonstrating poor construction/quality control.I will be returning the product and requesting a refund. I am leaving in one week for a two-week solo backpacking trip along the Appalachian Trail, and was hoping to use this to avoid attracting bears and other critters. Unfortunately it looks like I will have to rely on regular plastic baggies, such as Ziploc. I don't know how odor-proof Ziplocs are, but as long as they stay sealed they will perform better than this bag. This product is described on the package as 'Military Grade'. This is plain false advertising. Military grade implies durability, and should not be used to describe something that can break before its first use. How dangerous. I can't imagine somebody relying on this product to get through grizzly territory only to have it fail on them in the field.Just read some of the statements on the packaging (fourth picture). "LOKSAK will not be responsible for any damage to items...", "Any bag deemed defective must be returned to manufacturer for review", "Our bags are disposable and MUST be replaced after extended use". Do any of those statements lead you to believe the product will be durable? No! They are basically telling you right out that their product is low quality, will not last long, and they assume no responsibility. What a scam.Please read other reviewers' comments before considering purchasing this product. Many others have experienced similar issues. I have even seen some four-star reviews praising the product, but claiming that it broke after limited use.
