A must-have, versatile palette.

Surprisingly few pressed makeup palettes contain wearable matte shadows--although I love brands like Urban Decay, all their palettes tend to contain shimmery or glittery eyeshadows. Mattes seem to be a little harder to pull off that shimmery shadows--cheaply made mattes tend to be chalky or poorly pigmented. These shadows, on the other hand, are richly pigmented, long-lasting, easy to blend, and very much wearable.

This palette contains a versatile array of 16 shadows--7 matte, 9 shimmery; they are as follows:
White: a pure white eyeshadow with subtle glitter (shimmery)
Cream: a more natural, skin-toned highlighter (matte)
Taupe: a light brown (matte)
Lt. Pink: a pale, rose-toned pink (matte)
Mauve: a mauve taupe; looks brown in the palette, but has purple undertones (matte)
Sable: a richly saturated earth-toned brown (matte)
Espresso: a veeryy dark brown, almost indistinguishable from black except that it has brown undertones (matte)
Black: a nicely pigmented black, with grey undertones (matte)
Nude: a lovely white-gold shimmer (shimmery)
Champagne: a slightly darker, pinker shimmer (shimmery)
Gold: a rich copper shimmer (shimmery)
Lt. Bronze: similar to champagne, but slightly darker with less glitter (shimmery)
Pewter: a deep greyish-brown (shimmery)
Garnet: a rosey, dark brown (shimmery)
Deep Purple: an almost black shimmer with deep purple undertones (shimmery)
Slate: a deep bluish grey (shimmery)

This makes for the PERFECT everyday/nude palette, with enough gorgeous shimmery shadows to pull off more than a few dramatic looks. The shadows are long-lasting enough on their own, but the included primer really makes these shadows stand out. Overall, it's a must-have makeup set!

(the palette itself is very slim and compact, measuring at 7.5" by 3" by 3/8". Each shadow measures about 3/4 square inch. The included primer is .19 oz.)

I've been wearing shadows from the Lorac MegaPro 3 to work all year so I already knew I was a fan of the Lorac formula. I did not yet have this particular palette, though. The colors appealed to me because they are the sorts of colors I know I would actually wear -- plenty of lighter shades for highlights and mostly neutrals/earth tones. Those facts made this a pretty risk-free purchase. (For a pop of color, I just put on some fun eyeliner.) Since I tend to go more dramatic with lip colors, it is nice to have eyeshadows like this to balance out the look (don't want to go too bold with BOTH types of cosmetic products as I'm quite pale and would look rather silly with dramatic eyes AND lips).

I have very oily eyelids so I always use primer. Lately it has been Urban Decay Primer Potion. So every time I've worn shadows from this palette, it has been over UDPP. And I have to say, these shadows last all day and look just as nice at the end of the day as at the beginning. So that is great. I find the pigmentation good. (As I mentioned earlier, I am quite pale, so it is hard for eyeshadows to have bad pigmentation on me. Plus, I'm sure the primer helps with that.) I also find that these blend well. Plus, they have little to no fallout. (I am just applying with any old brush. I have Morphe, e.l.f., and a bunch of no-name brushes as well. This does not come with a brush but I don't really care. One single brush is not enough for me anyway -- I use AT LEAST three every time I apply eyeshadow, sometimes four.)

I'll admit, I don't use the four shadows on the right-hand side of the palette much. I have a fear about dark colors, and I tend not to use eyeshadow as liner. But I'm not going to decrease my rating for that. Pretty much every single eyeshadow palette ever has a few dark colors I will never use. (Although, the gray "slate" can work as an accent in some situations.) I also don't use this for my brows because I pretty much never do my brows. But if you are into that, there are a variety of shades that will work for that, especially the matte shades in the top row. I have also limited myself to dry application thus far. (I find that wet application involves more work than I generally have time for when I am getting ready in the morning.)

These shadows do not cause irritation (not even the shimmery colors), at least for me. I have sensitive eyes and wear contact lenses and I am able to wear these all day without issues. They come off with makeup remover wipes (various brands) or dual phase liquid eye makeup remover.

Honestly, A little disappointed

I love Lorac's foundation and face primer. So when I was looking for a new eyeshadow palette I thought going with Lorac would be a safe bet, quality-wise. Unfortunately I found that may not be always true. It feels cheap, I used it only once and there's already tons of mess on it.. one small touch with a makeup brush on one of the colors and the color spreads everywhere on the palette and on my face.
Once applied, the pigment is OK, not great, but honestly the process is so messy I don't know if it's worth using again.
In conclusion, lesson learned. I'll stick to my normal tradition of actually going to the store and testing the makeup before buying it. Ulta and Mac are my favorite places.

It is fine.

This pallet is fine. I find I don't use a lot of the colors (either too bright or too dark). But you never get a palette with every color you love. It is fine.
