-OMG you guys, no wires!
-Sound quality is not as good as a direct wired connection because A2DP isn't totally perfect

-Costs more than wired headphones
-Flashing blue lights on your head? What is this, Tron???
I have been using BlueTooth headphones with smartphones & tablets for about 4 years now, and I didn't realize how much I appreciate them until I lost my first pair. The devices you're gonna be using with BT headphones are "portable" things that fit in a pocket. Generally, this means if you've got headphones plugged in, you've gotta manage the wiring, plus you have a non-flexible plug sticking out of your device and potentially jabbing you in the leg. This isn't too bad, unless you take out and put away your device somewhat regularly during use. Then, its like "FUUUUU!" At least, that is my experience. Honestly, I feel kinda bad ass sitting there listening to my music with no wires at all, occasionally hitting a button on my headphones to pause or skip tracks. Is it silly? Yes. Is it rational? Not really. Are wires annoying? Yes. Is it all worth it? Depends on who you talk to. Honestly, I'll never go back to wired headphones except in the context of audio production, where they're pretty much a must.
The cost is a non-issue to me, as a geek with a serious gadget addiction.Read more ›
First, I don't know why there aren't any reviews of this product. Also, it is hard to find any information on this item anywhere online. Needless to say, I took a big chance on this and could have been burned(well, I still could get burned since I've only listened to them for 2 days). Thermaltake is a company that makes computer hardware, and I guess Luxa is some sort of subsidiary.
Let me get this out of the way. I have owned 2 sets of the Motorola 305s stereo bluetooth headphones, but both of them quit working due to my excessive sweat(I try to walk 3-5 miles everyday), but they're a great value, and were the first affordable bluetooth stereo headphones, so I'm not going to knock them, but I'm not buying a new pair every year. I also owned an old school Plantronics stereo bluetooth, which is no longer for sale, so I've had experience with these, and I know what I need: It must be bluetooth, stereo bluetooth(I can't stand wires), comfortable, and a great value. What I wanted was something louder than those other pairs, better sound, and better quality. Ok, now to the review.
First, the negative. The connector IS NOT USB to micro USB as the description said AND as the user manual says. It is USB to small pin connector, so I'll have to find a car charger that has USB. No biggie, but micro USB has become the standard, and I hate it, on priciple, that they flat out lie about this, even in the manual.
Now, the positive. To my surprise THESE SOUND AWESOME!!! I finally understand what the audiophiles talk about when they say you can hear each instrument individually and crisply.Read more ›
Thinking it may have been a fault with the tablet I tried connecting the headset to my Samsung Galaxy S3 phone and was met with the same results. It would connect and sound perfect about 10% of the time but most of the time it was tinny and distant.
Sadly these were not the only issues with the headset. Every once in a while the connection would be lost and the headset would get stuck in some weird mode with the lights flashing and I would have to reset the headset. Unfortunately, resetting did not always work and you had to let the battery die before you could get the unit working again. This happened about 4 times in two weeks, very irritating.
After 2 weeks of being frustrated by connection issues I had to return the headset. If you have an Acer W700 or Samsung Galaxy S3 I would look elsewhere.
