In every adventure Lucy finds herself in the middle of a murder. In this one, the body is actually found in her shop. In all the stories the dead person is one that is not very well liked so you don't get upset. It is actually a fun read as Lucy goes from one thing to another. The good news is that the vampires, living in tunnels below the city are always on hand to help Lucy investigate the murder and protect her.
And then there is Rafe. The 500 year old vampire leader of the whole group. He is one sexy dude. You can't help but love Rafe and want the two of them to get together. BUT he is a 500 year old vampire, never aging and living forever. Lucy is a healthy young woman that has no desire to be a vampire but she does desire Rafe. Any age could read these stories. There is no sex involved and the murders are not gruesome or scary. I definitely recommend this story as well as the whole series. It is a fun read. Vampires are not usually my favorite genre. But, since Nancy wrote them I decided to go outside my box and give them a try. I have loved every one so far. I like this version of the vampire. A good read.
I was not paid for this review. I am not a writer nor do I know one. I am not kin to this author. I am a reader and this is my opinion, nothing more, nothing less. 7/31/19
This time, Cardinal Wooley's has been chosen as the location for a televised knitting show with a top designer. Of course, Lucy finds the body of one of the knitters chosen for the show. Now she and those wonderful vampire knitters have to solve the crime before Cardinal Woolsey's reputation is ruined. Can they do it? What's happening between Lucy and Rafe, that gorgeous vampire? You'll have to read this completely engaging book to find out! I'm certainly glad I did.
I voluntarily read an Advance Reader Copy of this terrific book and had to buy it for myself! I can definitely recommend it to you.
The murder plot is perfect, with all the characters intertwined in ways, along with some twists you don't expect. At least, some caught me by surprise. And there's just enough romantic tension to keep us tantalized, too.

It's an unattractive trait in any character and moreso in the main protagonist of a series.
