About the Author
A long-time resident of the Pacific Northwest, the author believes that the high percentage of authors in the region (compared to the nation as a whole) is chiefly due to the fact that it's so damned wet and miserable all the time there. They tend to use their long hours cooped up inside spinning yarns that depict things they'll never see or experience — such as sunshine. --This text refers to the paperback edition.

The sadist's fantasy🐲 🌎world is White Valley. The men are all on power trips to see who can embarrass, humiliate, and spank✋ their wife into submission, and it's mostly done in public.
The husbands brag to each other about the punishments they hand out to their wives. Each wife is required to keep a journal of her "transgressions" during the week, then the men all take their wives to the meeting room and they are all publicly punished with bare bottoms on display for any other man to leer at.
To me, the men were much too gleeful in handing out spankings with paddles, floggers, straps, and belts.
I just don't see any love💔 here in this book. Lacey is just an object for her husband Troy to abuse and amuse himself with. Lacey's mental problems stemming from her total lack of self esteem and self preservation make her incapable of adult decisions.
There is no aftercare by the rough, gruff, men in this book. I was frankly upset that most of the men were also portrayed as military veterans. What's up with that?
Troy👹🍆🌋✋ gets entirely too much sick pleasure from watching other men's wives be spanked✋ and abused💪 in all sorts of twisted ways. He gets off on it!
Maybe the author means to have the book📙 serve as some kind of shock jock book exercise? Maybe his hope is to write📝 something so over the top that it creates some sort of reader's sensation? Thus his goal is attracting additional readers, similar to the 50 Shades of Grey phenomenon?
All I can say is "This is Crazy Man!" Leave me out of this sick, twisted , sadist's utopia!🐲 There is,only so far a sadist's desires can go before it becomes torture💪 and abuse✋. It's a fine line the author toe dances💃 along throughout the book.📙
The Author kindly fronted me this book📙 for my Voluntary and Honest Review. Thank You Trent!
The book ends in a cliffhanger!
Trent Evans paints a gritty picture of what rugged tough guys are supposed to be like. He has an inside track, after all. And, ladies, it ain't pretty. It took a while to acclimate myself to it all - to the foul language and coarse tough guy banter that masks vulnerability and shows other tough guys are supposed to act. Get it? But that's only when the ladies aren't around. In the highly testosterone charged world of Trent Evans, submissive ladies are forbidden coarse language, provided they don't want to suffer the painful consequences. Yeah, right!
Within this genre, none of these male/female contradictions are troubling to me because I get that in Evans' world, vanilla is aberrant and BDMS is normal. All is fair where fantasy and flogging are the coin of the realm. The drive to appease dark, demanding sexual appetites motivates all the primary characters. Throughout his stories, even apart from eagerly anticipated hot "scenes", his succinct descriptions and lean dialog only serve to inexorably escalate the delicious sexual tension to the next hot scene. And even that is rarely what is expected.
In Evans' persuasive world of words, it is completely logical that a gorgeous woman with deep masochistic desires should (eventually) submit to an equally gorgeous sexually sadistic male (or two) with a trunkful of ways to satisfy the powerful twisted longings of all concerned. In the end (no pun intended), you can bet that no one will be left wanting.
