Set in the time of the Reign of Terror, France in 1793 was the last place the aristocracy wanted to be. Emilie Maigny and most of her family find a way, through the aid of a mysterious British naval captain, out of Paris and to the safe shores of London, England, and her grandmother’s home there. Life should have been more peaceful away from the blood and guillotines of Paris. But not all goes as planned. It wouldn’t be a Gothic if it did. Dark forces are at work against Emilie and her family. Nightmares haunt Emilie’s dreams, leaving her shaken and afraid. The dreams are connected to tarot card imagery. Did they mean something? And why tarot cards? And then her brother, Sinjon shows up. But he isn’t the same brother she’d last seen before coming to London. He’d grown sullen and withdrawn. What had happened? What was he hiding?
Linton Morrison is a well to do young man, set to take over the parliamentary office of his Uncle Samuel. But it isn’t what he wants. Linton is a card reader…a tarot card reader. Filled with unrest and undecided about his future, he didn’t see the cards leading him to Emilie Maigny. When they meet, destiny plays its own tarot card…The Lovers. Was it the tarot that brought them together? Or was it the supernatural evil that threatened to destroy all who stood in its way?
Yes, LADY OF THE TAROT is much more than just a Gothic. Revezzo has added a terrifying mix, creating a tale that grabs you from page one, skillfully weaving a nightmarish finish where love and tarot cards are the only things left standing. Let’s hope there are more books featuring Emilie Maigny and Linton Morrison coming our way soon.

Although the protagonist, Emilie, escapes the Reign of Terror, she enters another kind of dark world that requires cautious navigating.
A love triangle and tarot readings certainly creates action and adventure for Emilie.
