“Lady in Waiting is one of the most effective tools I have ever used in discipling single, young women. It has also been a great blessing in my own life as a single woman. I plan to use Lady in Waiting for many years to come in my ministry.” —Brenda Rich
“Too often in today’s literature we emphasize reliance on self rather than on our Savior. Lady in Waiting goes beyond pop psychology and clings to the steadfast foundation of God’s Word. Creatively integrating biblical truth with an honest evaluation of the struggles facing today’s single woman, this book will add value to any woman’s library!” —Tara D. McClary
“After 22 years of marriage, Lady in Waiting has given me a sense of security in Christ that I never experienced before. This book helped me realize that my earthly father, my husband, or anyone else could not provide security—only God can. What a freeing principle—not only for me, but also for my husband! Now my marriage is better than ever because I no longer have unrealistic expectations of him!” —Jimmie Davis

I grew up in the church and believed it all, yet left for a couple years when I couldn't find a church that I felt was "doing church right"
Throughout this whole time for more than a decade I suffered from a deep depression. A little over a year ago I just happened to see this book in a Christian book store and my mom bought it for me. Let me tell you, God brought this book into my life at such a perfect time. I don't suffer from the depression anymore and really enjoyed this book. I also loved the study at the end of the book. There are some really great ideas in here and it is a very Bible based book (which is important for me). I've shared this book now with a few people I know in the church I go to now and they really loved it. I've said in other reviews the sign of a good book for me is how much of it is underlined and notes written i it. This one has a lot of things underlined and a lot of notes written.
It really gave me a peace and made me want to make the most of the life I am living now until I either find the right person or do something else with my life that God wants me to do. I highly recommend this book for singles, married women (it's good to have a way to encourage the single women in your life), or anyone.
I find that doing this is very freeing. I am sure that my future husband will find NOT having to fulfill me as an individual, frees him as well. Taking this responsibility off from his shoulders and putting it on God's shoulders, where it belongs in the first place, removes expectations we are looking for in a mate and frees them up to be the person God intends them to be. In a relationship, I can find nothing more liberating from false expectations, therefore making it possible for my soul mate to be who he is without trying to always impress me and fill me up.
Looking forward towards studying this book right to the very end ... and get out of it everything God had for me.
