"After 22 years of marriage, Lady In Waiting has given me a sense of security in Christ that I never experienced before. This book helped me realize that my earthly father, my husband, or anyone else could not provide security--only God can. What a freeing principle--not only for me, but also for my husband! Now my marriage is better than ever because I no longer have unrealistic expectations of him!" -- Jimmie Davis, Coordinator of Deaf Ministry, First Baptist Church in Atlanta
"I highly recommend Lady In Waiting to any woman with a passion for finding God's perspective on her life and future. Lady In Waiting provides great biblical teaching along with practical illustrations to apply to everyday challenges in being God's woman." -- Nancy Wilson, Associate National Director, Campus Crusade for Christ
"Waiting is one of the most difficult aspects of being a woman in today's society. In Lady In Waiting we are given a set of principles derived from biblical truth and psychological insights that will challenge both the single and the married woman." -- Dr Elizabeth Francisco, Professor, Trinity International University

I grew up in the church and believed it all, yet left for a couple years when I couldn't find a church that I felt was "doing church right"
Throughout this whole time for more than a decade I suffered from a deep depression. A little over a year ago I just happened to see this book in a Christian book store and my mom bought it for me. Let me tell you, God brought this book into my life at such a perfect time. I don't suffer from the depression anymore and really enjoyed this book. I also loved the study at the end of the book. There are some really great ideas in here and it is a very Bible based book (which is important for me). I've shared this book now with a few people I know in the church I go to now and they really loved it. I've said in other reviews the sign of a good book for me is how much of it is underlined and notes written i it. This one has a lot of things underlined and a lot of notes written.
It really gave me a peace and made me want to make the most of the life I am living now until I either find the right person or do something else with my life that God wants me to do. I highly recommend this book for singles, married women (it's good to have a way to encourage the single women in your life), or anyone.
I find that doing this is very freeing. I am sure that my future husband will find NOT having to fulfill me as an individual, frees him as well. Taking this responsibility off from his shoulders and putting it on God's shoulders, where it belongs in the first place, removes expectations we are looking for in a mate and frees them up to be the person God intends them to be. In a relationship, I can find nothing more liberating from false expectations, therefore making it possible for my soul mate to be who he is without trying to always impress me and fill me up.
Looking forward towards studying this book right to the very end ... and get out of it everything God had for me.
My personal journey is a unique one in that I have always had a searching heart after God (or maybe it's more that He has sought ME out). From a very young age I sought to really KNOW GOD PERSONALLY, with "reckless abandon." He's captivated me entirely, and I've come to know Him in such a personal way I didn't know was possible!
The first couple chapters of this book have re-affirmed what God has been teaching me all my life: That He wants ALL OF ME, that He LOVES ME PERFECTLY, and that I can only be COMPLETE IN HIM.
I hope that one day what I've learned will be a blessing to my future children and their children as well. I want my future children, especially my future daughters, to be blessed through me, through the decisions I make today. I want them to know God as I have, and infinitly more so!, to come to know Him as HE REALLY IS.
May God through His Spirit, apprehend you and captivate your hearts, that you may be brought to HIS VERY HEART, to the "so much MORE" He has prepared for His beloved. May He bless this little book, that the words would be living, that they would become truth to your heart. Read Ephesians 3:16-21.
I also must recommend two books to those who may read this review: Andrew Murray: Abide in Christ by Andrew Murray; The Pursuit of Godby A.W. Toser.
I would recommend this book to any woman who is struggling with singleness. Parts of it are not applicable to the divorced woman, but I believe it would be helpful for her as well. It is also geared more toward younger women.
