I didn't read book 1 and really didn't feel lost in reading this one first. Not only are our H/h entertaining with their banter, but I also laughed at the secondary character's - well maybe not the brother of the h.
If you are use to the decorum of rules of society in this time period, they don't exist in this story. But, I wasn't interested in that when I went searching in my library for a humorous book. Maybe if I wanted a true regency romance, I would have scored it lower. So be warned if you are a stickler because you may not like it.
We get HEA which I enjoyed, no cliffhanger, lovemaking that I found passionate and mildly descriptive. We get a very bumpy road to romance. Yes, I do recommend this story, if you want to laugh and just get lost for a few hours in make believe. (ljb)
The writing is light and elegant. The characters draw you into their lives. Even the secondary characters are fascinating. I hope books for the Shaws and Craven are in the works.
It was easy to immerse myself in this carefully crafted story. Looking forward to reading more from this author.
I have given this offering a four star rating.
I obtained this book for Amazon in Kindle format.
