What I really loved most about Jake and Erin's story, is that it didn't come extremely easy for the two of them. Erin has been working her tail off for years, and has her own plans to leave town as soon as she's done with school. They do not include meeting a handsome man while she's getting ready to put in her notice. And Jake has been burned before... so the last thing he is looking for right now is to try and settle down AGAIN.
These two have an instant attraction, and they are so great together, but are they willing to sacrifice their own personal dreams and take another huge risk on life and love together?
Love love LOVED the book, and am definitely going to check out more books by Nancy Stopper. She is a truly fantastic author!
Erin Johnson has worked for Hank Tate the last five years while finishing up her college degree one class at a time. For ten years her life had been on hold as she took care of her sister and father after the death of her mother. Erin has no intention of remaining in her home town. With college now behind her, she is waiting for the right time to sign the resignation letter in her desk drawer, leave Laguna Beach far behind her, and discover the world.
Jake Cooper, home builder and master wood worker, is injured in a freak accident at one of his job sites. He heads to his friend Hank's chiropractic clinic for care. Six foot plus of gorgeous male with wavy brown hair and green eyes, he'd been dumped nine months earlier by his girlfriend of two years while he was down on one knee, proposing to her with a romantic dinner on the beach. He was left with a broken heart, shattered dreams and the beautiful family home he had built.
When Jake and Erin were introduced, they were both startled by the instant attraction between them. Jake was the type of guy Erin had hoped to find and marry some day long into the future, and Jake was the most gorgeous man she had ever met. Since his break up, Jake had very little interest in dating anyone until he met a Erin.
Dreams Come True in Laguna was a nicely told story and was well written. One of my personal pet peeves is trying to get through bad grammar and unchecked auto-corrects. Dreams had none of that. While I received this book for free from the author, I wrote my review voluntarily and the opinion given of this book was my own.
Jake builds homes for families in Laguna Beach. He is ready to settle down but an awful breakup with his ex-girlfriend leaves him with the perfect family home but no family to share it with. After hurting his back in a work-related accident, he visits his friend Hank, a chiropractor, to help relieve his pain. One look at Erin and he is more than ready to start dating again.
At age eighteen, Erin put her life on hold when her mother died in order to take care of her younger sister and grieving dad. Ten years later, with her college degree complete Erin is ready for adventure and freedom from responsibility. She is unsure how to balance her desires for travel and her attraction for Jake.
This was a fun, wonderful and entertaining story with very likeable and authentic characters you want to cheer on, hoping for that happy ending. The characters were well written with complex characteristics. The story line was riveting and kept my attention to the very end. I enjoyed reading this book and had trouble putting this book down, reading it in one day. I recommend this book to other readers.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
Ellie had to put her dreams on hold at 18 years of ago, when he mother passed away and left her to care for her dad and younger sister. Finally, 10 years later she finally has her degree in hand and it ready to travel and live the life that she has always dreamed of.
Jake has always wanted large family and his dream house, but then he proposes to his fiancée and she says, No. Now all he has is his business and an empty house. One day, Jake is injured a job site and ends up at a friends doctors office for treatment. The moment that he sees Ellie he knew. Knew that he wanted to get to know her.
I can't wait to read more from this author.
