Ms. Shawn (Melanie and Shawna) bring you into the tale of these two characters who both need a break...they have been beating themselves up for things outside their control. Griff blames himself for how he acted as a writer on Laguna Nights and Cheyenne blames herself for always putting her twin sister, Denver, first.
Their story is very believable as they come together. Sparks fly right away but the romance builds as they interact with each other and the people around them. I love that Summer and Dillon recognized the attraction first. Really shows sometimes Love is Blind!
This was a fun and entertaining story with loveable characters that you want to support and cheer on hoping for that happy ending. The characters were well written and complex. The story line was riveting and kept my attention to the very end. I genuinely enjoyed reading this book and had trouble putting this book down, reading it in one day. I highly recommend this book to other readers.
I received an ARC of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review.
I adored the story, the pure happiness, and joy it exude. There's no conflict, no unnecessary drama, and the struggles the characters have, is deep in them, and they help each other to find a peace, a way to live with the baggage and leave some of it behind and move on.
For a novella, there's just enough story to entertain and enjoy, just enough to get to know the characters and root for them. The story has a little different tone to the other Melanie Shawn's books I have read lately, but I'm assuming it was the 'Kindle world' that set the tone. At the beginning of the story, there's some language that stood out. I honestly don't even remember if the author normally uses that kind of language in their stories, since I usually don't pay attention to it, unless it stands out, as of, doesn't really fit like it did here in the beginning.
But beyond that, you are going to enjoy the story, the summer sun sets, the lightness of life and love, the glee and delight of falling in love, and the passion of the creative process, and that lovely epilogue that gives the story a perfect wrap up.

Cheyenne asked Summer if she purposely put Cheyenne and Griff together. Summer said she would not confirm or deny the accusation, but it looked like Summer was glad she did! Summer knew that Cheyenne also had problems from her past. Griff had a secret of his own. Will these past actions affect their relationship? You need to read the book to find out. Summer and Griff were both good people. You can't help but fall in love with Griff's dog just as Cheyenne did. I really like the book and enjoyed all the characters. I was given the book for an honest review.
