-Extremely easy to figure out how to use.
-Small vegetables such as cucumbers, carrots, or skinny zucchini fit perfectly in this.
-It is so miniature, it barely takes up any cupboard space to store and could easily be brought with on trips or in a camper.
-Easy to clean with the little wire brush that came with it.
-Vegetable noodles are a very low calorie replacement for traditional pasta. (Awesome for me working on losing weight while still making dinners my family likes.)
-Good way to get kids to eat veggies. (Mine actually love veggies, but had gotten bored of ordinary looking ones. They're quite excited to eat the stringy variety this makes for a change. Mine don't like them to fully replace traditional pasta though. If you run into the same problem for yourself or family members, I'd recommend mixing zoodles with noodles for less calories and/or healthy somewhat hidden veggie consumption.)
-Only smaller vegetables will fit in this type.
-I can only use it for small portions because my hands get too tired to do any more.
If you're deciding what type of zucchini noodle maker may be best for you, here's some things to consider:
I have both this vegetable noodle maker and a much larger hand crank one. There are benefits to both and I actually use both a lot.
*We are a family of 5 so when I'm making something that requires a lot of vegetable noodles (such as a sweet potato enchilada casserole where I make sweet potato 'noodles') I couldn't use this small handheld one. For those jobs, the large other style one is necessary. When I only need a smaller amount this one is much more convenient (for example I was sick & made myself some chicken "noodle" soup, with carrot & zucchini noodles in chicken broth; this was perfect for quickly making the veggie noodles with hardly any cleanup required). I also make my husband and kids regular noodles for some favorite dinner dishes (alfredo, spaghetti, etc) and then use this little guy to make myself some low calorie veggie noodles instead (since I'm trying to lose weight.)
*The fact is also that unless it's a very chubby carrot, the hand crank type I have will not work. That one doesn't work well at all for skinny zucchini or cucumbers either, but this one is perfect!
*I also noticed that this little one makes much longer more consistent strings, whereas the hand crank one I have often makes very short half-moon shaped noodles if a vegetable isn't perfectly straight (which they never are).
*Another aspect to consider is how much cupboard or counter space you have available; this little thing hardly takes up any space at all!
*Overall in my opinion I would recommend buying either just this one or this one in addition to a larger hand crank one depending upon what you plan to use it for and how many you cook for.
