Engine
An engine’s displacement is the total volume of the engine’s combustion chambers, a rough index of the engine’s size and power. This is typically measured in liters (3.2L, for example), though sometimes it is expressed in cubic inches. I-4 and V-6 refer to the configuration and number of cylinders.

Transmission
The transmission adapts the output of the engine to the drive wheels. Transmissions usually have multiple gear ratios (“gears”) with the ability to switch between them as speed varies (6 gear ratios = “6 Speed”). Transmissions must either be controlled manually by the driver (“Manual Transmission”) or automatically by the vehicle (“Automatic Transmission”). One type of Automatic Transmission is the Continuously Variable Transmissions (CVT) which doesn’t have a fixed number of gears.

About This Vehicle

Model strengths:

Ridiculously fast and powerful; immediately recognizable as a Lamborghini; surprisingly easy to drive

Model changes:

The Lamborghini Huracan replaces the Gallardo as Lamborghini's new entry level model. Like its predecessor, the Huracan sports a V10 engine, huge horsepower and over-the-top styling that makes everyone drop whatever it is they're doing just to stare.

Model value:

The Huracan may be an entry-level car for the automaker, but it's still a Lamborghini and priced accordingly. With a base price of nearly $240,000, the Huracan is every bit the supercar its predecessor was. However this hasn't stopped Lamborghini from attempting to make the Huracan both easier to drive and a more pleasant place to be when not attempting to set a lap record at the local race track. The Huracan is equipped with all-wheel drive and a much smoother and easier to operate transmission than was fitted in the Gallardo. The interior is new and hugely improved, looking modern, angular and exotic, while still providing decent levels of comfort to go along with the car's sharper aesthetic.

Model overview:

The Lamborghini Huracan is a mid-engine V10 supercar. Its purpose is to be the fastest, most beautiful and most attention-grabbing car on the road, wherever it's driven. This all starts with the engine, a naturally aspirated 5.2L V10 that makes an astonishing 601hp, and is capable of revving well beyond 8000 RPM and sounds amazing when doing so. This engine is attached to a 7-speed dual clutch gearbox with paddle shifters. This transmission is much smoother than the single clutch unit that came in the Gallardo, giving the new car a huge increase in refinement while still being able to fire off upshifts and downshifts in the blink of an eye. Zero to sixty still takes less than four seconds. Flat out, the Huracan is capable of speeds over 200 mph.

The exotic styling of the Huracan hides thoroughly modern and exotic underpinnings as well. The frame is a hybrid aluminum/carbon fiber affair that promises both huge amounts of rigidity and lightness. In fact, Lamborghini claims that the new car is significantly lighter than the Gallardo that it replaces, benefitting both acceleration and fuel economy, though the latter is obviously not a huge concern to most owners.

The Huracan can be changed from street, to sport to track mode with the push of a button, changing everything from the speed of up and downshifts to the amount of torque that's sent to each different wheel. Optional electronically controlled magnetic shock absorbers can further change the behavior of the car with simple electronic adjustments. This gives drivers the option to putter around in relative comfort when it's time to relax or if the weather gets bad.

Stopping is handled by enormous 6-piston caliper disc brakes in front and 4-piston caliper disc brakes at the rear with anti-lock brakes at all four corners. Dual stage front and side airbags are standard and the Huracan does have traction control and stability control. However both can be turned off at the driver's request

I went on Amazon to buy a bag of chocolate, a new keyboard for my computer, and somehow added one of these to my cart by accident and absolutely love it. I'm in crippling debt but when the repo man comes, he'll never be able to catch me. Great for smuggling exotic animals. Would highly recommend to a friend.

Its a fantastic car. I sold my kidney and left nut in order to buy this car. Who needs one nut anyway. Only problem is that it does not have cruise control, and yet a 02 camry has one and they are only $2,000.

I've been fortunate to have experienced many really great exotic cars. However, I'm very impressed with the Huracan and have to say it's the best car I've ever owned. It's very comfortable, luxurious and fast. The engine sounds great. With 610 horsepower, it's a great way to get from point A to point B. I used to drive a Ferrari which I thought was nice but not as good of a drive. I've had the old Gallardo which was very powerful but not very street friendly. The Huracan offers the best of both. In Street mode, the car runs like a Mercedes. Very comfortable and smooth. In Sport mode, the car becomes a beast. If you want the best of both worlds, I recommend taking a look at this car (in terms of drive). Obviously you don't get much of a trunk of back seats, but if those are your concerns, look at the Ferrari California. They only thing this car really needs that it doesn't have are blind spot monitors. There's a big blind spot and you have to be attentive to that.

Very cheap, so I picked one up and then I felt cheap. Was a good ride, but after 3 miles I felt homeless and just left it in some alley, good for the price.

After selling all of my organs to purchase this car, I ended up dying and not being able to drive it. Now I am burning in hell watching the devil drive it past me over and over and over.....very upset!
