Excellent "view" of the world

Knowing those who are blind from birth, I read this story with interest. For a sighted person in a sighted world, it is unimaginable that the "gift" of sight would not be welcomed. However, I would think that a person who has the ability to function and thrive, whatever their abilities, would face with trepidation at least the profound changes that introduction of a new-found but unmissed sense would provoke. I consider the author's concept of the "gift" and its aftermath to be thought-provoking and insightful, and I cannot wait to discuss her story with my blind friends. Well done, Leah Rhyne - an awakening for us to others' realities!

This story could have been good, unfortunately the author chose to over-describe to 'compensate' for the persons lack of sight. There was one part where she could sense the sweat oozing from the pores of someone. I mean c'mon. The author was trying too hard with her choice of words in the descriptions.
