This guide is a terrific companion to the Land of Stories. It tells the inspiration for the characters, profiles for the characters, sketches of the characters. It contains some plot notes that weren't implemented a mock interview between Mother Goose and the author plus some other goodies. It probably isnt a book you would want to read before completing the main series but maybe you could read through it prior to the final two books and not have too much spoiled, if anything, in my opinion. My 12 year old and 9 year old loved this companion and forced me (the adult dad) to read and I also found it to be essential reading to get some more depth to the background of the characters. Well worth the purchase!
