About the Author

Landon Turner was a starting forward on Indiana's 1980-81 NCAA basketball Champions. His revitalized play is often credited for the Hoosiers' late-season success. Indiana's five victories in the NCAA Tournament came by an average margin of 23 points and Turner was named to the All-Tournament team. On July 25, 1981, four months after Indiana won its third NCAA title, Turner was paralyzed from the chest down in a one-car accident. Three years later he graduated from Indiana University and became Coordinator of Minority Affairs at Indiana-Purdue-Indianapolis. Turner has competed on the court in a wheelchair basketball league, and is an active speaker to school, church and business groups. He is also a partner in the TNT Dynamite Basketball Camps. Stan Sutton is sports editor of The Herald-Times in Bloomington, Indiana. A member of the Indiana Sports Writers and Sportscasters Hall of Fame, Sutton has worked for six newspapers in the Midwest, including a 25-year stint with The Courier-Journal in Louisville, Ky. A native of Mays, Indiana, who moved to Shelbyville, Indiana, as a teen-ager, Stan has followed Indiana basketball for more than 50 years and has covered the Hoosiers since 1984. He has won a number of awards while extensively covering college and professional sports.
