I bought one of this package (at a bargain price) a week ago and went thru a simple setup:
1) lower the nut action (by filing the nut slots) to my liking
2) file the fret ends as some are still sharp
3) the saddle happens to be at the right height for me so no work is needed here
These are always expected from a brand new fretted instrument (guitar, mandolin, ukulele, etc....)
I saw so many reviews that treat these as issues and gave bad rating (very understandtable for a novice).
[ so buying used is a good way to avoid these issues at a LOWER PRICE, the problem is to hard to find seller who sell the exact brand/model you are looking for ]

This tenor sounds very good to my ears (this is my 4-th ukulele which sounds the best).
The KOA wood seems to CONTRIBUTE to this good sound (even it's laminated and not solid).
The golden tuners are good and keep the strings in tune very well.
There are a few brand and models I tried at GC that sound better (all solid KOA or solid mahogamy) but these cost A LOT more.
From the cosmetic point, it looks really nice.
The included electronic tuner is also the best kind I have used (had 2 other models), easy to read in any lighting condition. The included gigbag does not have very thick padding, but better than none. I can always add more padding to it if I wish.
A beginner/intermediate will love and stick with this one for many years.
I am not an advanced player so I can't speak for them.

A good sounding and well setup instrument does encourage the player to play a lot (and make good progress). Don't waste money on cheaper ukulele that sound bad or hard to play (due to wrong size, bad construction or not well setup) as you will lose money as well as lose the desire to play.

My 17 year old grandson wanted a ukelele for his birthday. This fit perfectly. It wasn't an expensive instrument (and isn't a toy). He is an accomplished musician on other instruments and wanted a ukelele just for himself. Is enjoying every minute of learning a new instrument. Very impressive tuning. I am very happy with the purchase.

I ordered mine from Australia. It was such good value. I had only a cheapie soprano so I was so very happy with this tenor. Easy for my fingers to play, and my son who has large hands. I have been playing for hours each day on it I love it so much. It was my birthday present. I am only a beginner at the uke but I love to play, and with this I love to play even more. The tuner is fabulous, after I figured out in about ten seconds how to use it and change it to the correct instrument setting. I don't mind the bag either as it's not as if I'm going to throw the thing around or step on it. The only tiny issue I had was there was a tiny nick at the back of the body. It won't affect it any way but that's all I could fault. I purchased another uke from amazon only 2 days prior. As I tuned the strings the neck pulled away from the body with a cracking sound...was not happy and returning that one...different brand, so to see this one was pretty solid in that area was relieving. I've only had it two days, so I hope that doesn't happen to this one.

This is my second Lanikai ukulele, my other is the LKP-C. Both are stellar beginner/intermediate ukes. I prefer the tone of this tenor, as the slightly larger body gives a fuller sound. The gigbag is good quality, but I plan on investing in custom hard cases for both my ukuleles soon for extra protection and awesomeness. The little pamphlet is a nice touch, but unnecessary for anyone who has internet access. The tuner is useful for anyone who doesn't quite have an ear for pitch, but it's fragile... mine snapped at the joint as I was adjusting the second time I used it (I guess I don't know my own strength). I love that the uke came equipped with Aquila strings, since that brand is my preference and I would have paid an additional $10 to buy a set otherwise. The stunning koa wood and abalone accents add sophistication and flair. Really beautiful instrument all around, highly recommend.

I never owned a ukulele before. After comparing to ones sold in stores I got a good deal. It has a good sound, quality workmanship and is a lot of fun to play.

This is a beautiful instrument and is very universal when transitioning from guitar to this very fine ukulele. It has a very high quality tuner and I thought it honestly was going to be a really lousy instrument because the pack makes it look as if it is a childs toy. I was SURELY MISTAKEN. Whether it is your first ukulele or your second, third, or fourth. This hands down the one I would purchase. Not only for the high quality of the instrument, but because the company actually cares about the happiness and satisfactionof you as the customer.

This is a wonderful little instrument to start playing around with. On tge aesthetics side it IS BEAUTIFUL. I own a few guitars and bass guitars myself but this little ukulele has blown my mind , with how beautiful it is . It's very easy to learn if you already know how to play the guitar and if you're just getting into music this bubdle that they give you is perfect for a beginner . 5 stars
