The blade IS hard to open which could be a problem for those of us with arthritis like myself.
Its a little easier to close but not by much so be carefull not to cut yourself.
Ill happily use this for as long as I can.
It aint for use in a knife fight because of the STIFF openin factor...
Not that Id recomend knife fightin anyways UNLESS your either highly trained / experianced
and / or in a desperate situation.
In my opinion its better suited for light weight bushcraftin in so far as gettin wood shavins
and strikin a ferro rod.
Of course with this bein a foldin blade...
I wouldnt recomend it for batonnin wood.
Id definatly recomend this for anyone who needs a good general purpose utility knife
and who doesnt mind the more difficult openin / closin feature.
On the back of the package it says yall might wanna put some thread lock on the retainin screw
of the clip if you decide to reposition it.
I recomend doin so even IF you leave the clip as is.
Id also like to suggest puttin an orange or other bright colored paracord lanyard on it just in case.
One more thing...
This knife is meant to be legal no matter where yall go on mother earth
BUT C.Y.A. by learnin about the knife carry laws in your area and / or where your plannin to go
since its entirely possible if not probable that conservitards in power may have made them tougher
to legaly abide by.
I decided to return this knife for a refund since I wasnt able to make use of it.
It's important to see it as exactly what it is. A cheap, mostly "legal" knife. And that's it. It's not aggressive or tactical and it does not have a personality or stance on any subject. It's a knife!
It's probably the most knife that you can buy for the money. It's big and bold with a huge chunk of metal for a blade, which in my book is great. It will serve you well if you keep it sharp (as obviously you should with any knife that you intend to use for any purpose) as long as you understand there is no lock and use requires a certain knack of keeping your everything away from that blade when in use and when closing the blade.
The clip on mine flew off on first use and I thought the threads were stripped and that I'd have to throw the spring metal away, but, no I re attached the clip and tightened it down and it's fine!
As I do with all my knives, I completely disassembled the knife and coated all metal parts with Fastex. I then re assembled everything and ended up with a very sturdy mechanism with no slop and offering a smooth opening and closing while still giving a strong open folder "lock".
The edge will shave out of the packaging and my experience with this metal is that it will hold a decent edge and allow easy sharpening.
If it gets messed up, take it apart, clean it and put it back together.
I'm expecting a lot of service from this knife and my verdict is serious value for money.
If you don't know what Fastex is, Google it!
