Ok so I do love this thing but it arrived either damaged or it is just poorly made. The back part made to hold a tablet is so thin and cracked you can see through it in light. If the back piece wasn't about to snap off this would hands down be 5 stars. It's perfect for a gaming laptop setup. The mousepad also feels great and there are plenty of holes for air. Also very comfortable with a 5lbs+ laptop. Again the photos show the downside though.

Good For My Gaming Laptop

I recently purchased an MSI GE75 Raider-286 (9SF series). It's a 17.3" screen but narrow bezels and claims to fit in a 15.6" laptop's footprint (15.6" wide, 10.6" long). Sitting it down on this lapboard just barely lets me use a mouse on the mouse pad. The mouse pad is on the small side, but big enough that using my Logitech G903 at 1600 DPI can get me from one side of the screen to the other without lifting the mouse.

I don't like the lack of cushion, but boards this size with a mouse pad don't seem to have any, which is unfortunate. My laptop weighs about 6 pounds. It also might make it a little less stable since there's no give. The cutouts on the bottom don't match with the laptop's ventilation holes, but it also has tall enough feet to lift it up and extra airflow from below will probably help with temperatures.

It does also fit my Galaxy S10+ in a pretty thick case just fine. A little disappointed there's no cutout for a charger in the phone holder slot like there is on the larger tablet holder. The phone won't fit in landscape mode with the laptop all the way on; the laptop has to hang off a good couple of inches for the phone to be on its side.

The mouse pad itself is OK. It's a nicely textured fabric with a small bit of cushion. The edges might be at risk of fraying because they aren't stitched and the pad doesn't sit totally flush with the wood surface. I would've liked to see a hard, textured plastic mouse surface instead, given that I think it would be A) hard to source a replacement, should one exist and B) should a replacement be found, hard to install

I use it ever day with a MacBook Pro 15" and Magic Mouse. Works perfectly and great fit. The only issue is as others have described. The router portion of the unit is rough and splinters.

I have a couple of sponge sandpaper tools, for drywall repair. I forced the sponge into the slots and ran it back and forth a few times... smooth as butter.

This is my favorite Lap Desk I have ever purchased. I have bought three others, but none of them allowed for the mouse. This one has a nice mouse pad that allows a ton of room. Absolutely love it.

There are two grooves at the top for phones. Thee top one works well for my Pixel 3 with case. The one right above the mouse pad... I haven't found any use for it yet. Nothing I have seems to fit.

Overall, this is the laptop lap desk to get!

Holds up to some abuse

When the pandemic hit, one of my children ended up using my 15" laptop all day, every day. I lost the use of my computer including the nice lap desk I had paired with it. I eventually bought a new computer for myself and took back my old lap desk and gave my child this one.

Being in the hands of an 8 year old, who despite our constant urging, is quite careless and unintentionally abusive to the laptop and the lap desk. After two months of constant use (and abuse), the desk is holding up splendidly. I expect it to outlast the computer at this rate. It has a few scratches on it from use, but no signs of chipping, cracking, or splintering.

I would buy another if the need arose, and would certainly recommend this to others.

Holds my 17 inch laptop with room for a mouse. Back groove holds a tablet portrait mode, and devices with cases. Front groove only holds devices without cases. Power cord notch allows newer Apple styles only, not the older style.

I recently bought myself a new gaming laptop, so I was looking for a lap desk that would let me play my games on the couch without worrying about overheating.

I was sold on this because of its minimal design, air flow cut-outs, and space for a mouse. And all of that works absolutely perfectly. It is the perfect size for my laptop, which has a 15.5" inch screen. It's 14.5" inches wide, which gives an extra 7.5" inches on the side for the mouse. A perfect size, without being too bulky. The attached mouse pad also works just fine with my wireless mouse. I don't find the weight to be a problem when it's sitting in my lap; on the contrary, it feels nice and stable. It's perfectly comfortable also without any padding.

The only reservation I have: The minute it came out of the box, it would occasionally let out audible cracking noises. I think this is from the wood delaminating, but I'm not certain of the cause. It could be the heat from my laptop causing the wood to expand and delaminate, but even from my bedroom at night I could hear it cracking in the living room when my laptop wasn't in use. ^^; So far the cracking doesn't seem to have caused any functional problems. It's still sturdy, it still does the job. I only feel a slight ridge along the grain of the wood around the vent cut-outs where it's delaminated/cracked. Time will tell if this cracking causes any major problems with it down the road.

So far, it is perfect for my needs, and I am very happy with it. We'll see how long it lasts, but so far I'm happy with my purchase. Fingers crossed!

Though it's a a bit heavy when you carry it with your laptop on it, i just love how it looks. I read reviews that it is not a good quality but I think it is sturdy. I bought this specifically as I wanted a lapdesk where i can put my mouse as well as i hated using the touchpad. It does not consume space when Im using it in my bed as it has no stand. Overall, I love it!
