This is a very nice and sturdy case. It is sleek and easy to store when needed. You receive six detachable rubberized guards that you arrange for a perfect and snug fit for your lap top. It is not hard to accomplish and they do not slip once in place and pressed down. There is also an internal strap that then fits over your lap top for great protection. The locking mechanisms are incredibly sturdy and do not break. The shoulder strap is also very sturdy. Everything is really first class with this case. Other than your lap top, power cord, a few pens, zip drive, and a few papers, not much else will fit in there; but the advantage is it is not gigantic and unwieldy. I lamented whether to spend this much on a case for my lap top but have never regretted it. If you want real protection it is worth the extra money and this will be a one time purchase as it is incredibly well built and will truly protect your lap top. Hope this helps. Good luck.

Not perfect but what is?

First off let me say that this is a very well made case and should protect your laptop as well as anything else on the market. The fit and finish are top notch and you won't be disappointed. It's good looking too.

Now for the not perfect part, at least with my model of laptop, which is a 15.4 MacBook Pro. One of the selling features of this case is that you can use the side ports while the laptop is still in the case. With the MacBook Pro (which is quite thin) I have to prop the back edge of the laptop up on top of the custom rubber feet that hold the computer in place. Otherwise the ports are still too low in the case to be used.

This is also required to open the screen since the MacBook Pro needs a little room behind the laptop for the screen to open and the rubber holders provided leave no room behind the laptop. Considering how popular Macbook Pros are it would have been nice if they had provided "Holders" that worked better with this model.

I also saw on some websites that there was an access hole in the back (covered by a rubber plug) that you could use to run the power cord through so you could charge the laptop while the case was closed. This is something I could of used because I'm often in dirty environments. This feature was not on my case. Perhaps they eliminated it to make the case more waterproof. Sure would be nice to have a MagSafe connector built in!

Amazons description is a little misleading as well. (7030 LAPTOP CS W/ FL FLDR) I read that as 7030 LAPTOP Case with file folder. Wrong...the file folder is NOT included.

These small negatives might not be a problem at all with other laptop models. I still gave the case 5 stars because it's still workable and a mighty fine case. Recommended (even for the MacBook Pro)
