However, the style of the book (a lot of hype about how the author and others live the "good life" --luxurious vacations, thousands of dollars a month pouring into checking accounts, getting up late, not commuting to an office, living offshore in a less-expensive tropical location) sound more like an infomercial and indeed, the author is suggesting you take one of his seminars.
The good news about this book is that the information is gathered conveniently into one place. The bad news is that you probably can get this yourself if you study online enterprise, and meanwhile you have to wade through the fluff and sales pitch. I will say, that doing all this research yourself online is time-consuming and you do get a number of ideas here (ebooks, informational websites that pay per click, webinars, referral sites) as well as a concise list of opportunities for earning a living with a web-based business.
I am giving the book three stars because a lot of what is in here is true, at least for the current year 2012, and if you are wanting to branch out on your own, start a business with a minimal startup cost, this could be very helpful. I just didn't enjoy the writing; too much anecdotal come-on, hype and cheerleading, too little meat and potatoes of information. You'd need more than this book if you are serious.
I mainly picked up the book for more tips to increase my ebook business and I ended up learning more than I thought I would.
If your looking for the most current ways to make money online "at least until a new crop of sales channels open up" this book will satisfy your needs.
It lays out the endless potential in accessing billions of consumers all over the world and then actually shows you how to tap into them.
Update...it is June 1 2014 and I'm still referring to this book. The author should follow up with a training series. There really is some good advice in the book. Gonna start licencing that I learned about...good stuff..just changed from 4 stars to 5
In all honesty, I expected a lot from this book. But alas, I was disappointed. I am just not ready to buy the claims OP makes. He was broke. And then suddenly he's an expert in online marketing. He suddenly made "millions of dollars" doing everything possible. I'm sorry but that is just against everything I've been taught.
The book has a lot of "methods" - more life anecdotes and definitions - and is filled with a lot of numbers and algebra. "If you have 100,000 visits per month, and each is worth $0.20, then you can make $2,000 per month". How do I get those 100,000 visitors? How do I make each one worth $0.20? How do I scale it?
There's a lot of holes in this book that will set readers' expectations very high, but leave them absolutely blank.
I WILL NOT RECOMMEND THIS TO ANYONE WHO WANTS TO GET STARTED WITH INTERNET MARKETING.
Lost people willing to do whatever for quick cash.
Lost sight of the long term goals
Following money, and not dreams
Breeding and encouraging spam and wrong practices.
This book felt like a infomercial at 3:00 am. I read it to gave it a try, but I felt REALLY disappointed with it.
All the tips are extremely basic and Mark almost assumes his readers do not have a clue on marketing or entrepreneurship, which is good. Bad thing is he over promises fast money and delivers content that it's extremely misleading (there is a image with 3 images on it: traffic > website > $$$$$$. If that is not over-promising and misleading, then I don't know what it is.
On the bright side, Anastasi gives hint on a few websites that could deliver actual value to its users. Nevertheless, they will mostly work if you speak english and so does your audience.
At the end, this book teaches how to shoot everyone through spam and catch a few bodies. It's not effective and never looks on the long term. This is "quick money". Soulless money, with no content, no passion, no respect and no heart.
It could have been a nice reading, but it turned out to be a book that treated its readers as gullible and naive people.
