The Lashley Boy (The Lashley Trilogy Book 1) Kindle Edition

$0.00 Read with Kindle Unlimited to also enjoy access to over 3 million more titles $3.00 to buy
Set in the North East of England, amongst the mining communities of County Durham, it follows the life of Bella Horseman, a self-made woman and her family, as they forge a way from the poverty of The Rows to the affluence of the middle classes and beyond and the difficulties they encounter and the triumphs they experience along the way.
Although totally a work of fiction, the book’s foundations are from my memories and the stories told to me by my grandmother, Maud Lashley, when I was small.
‘The Lashley Boy’ is the first of a trilogy, the next novel ‘The Horsemans Ride Out’ should be available by the end of 2012.

About the author

I grew up in a poor part of West London in the 1950's and 60's and as an only child I would spend a lot of time dreaming up imaginary friends and making up stories. I was fortunate in being farmed out to a succession of elderly ladies who told me tales about their lives and taught me all sorts of useful skills, from how to play innumerable card games to how to darn a sock, but mostly they told me about their lives and gave me their time and attention. I was taken out and shown a world that I'd only dreamt about, tea in the rooftop garden at Derry & Toms in Kensington, trips to Fuller's Cake Shops and London Zoo and innumerable art galleries, and so my education began, and the wonderful experiences I had have been woven into my books. I've just published my latest novel, 'The Imperfect Sisterhood', which tells the story of how a group of disparate women come together to change their fate, and in doing so realise how powerful they in fact are. I'm now beginning to write my latest novel, which is about a child who can make mysteriously make things happen, and again I've been able to draw on the wealth of memories that have made my life so fulfilling and exciting. I look forward to writing many more books in the years to come.

Now I want to know more. What happened to the Boy? was he happy with his new sibling? Did he finally mix in with his upper crust school mates. did his father do well with his employment, did grandad continue in the antique restoration business. So much I need to know more of. Please don't let the next instalment be too far away.
