This fan is great...and it costs about a third of what similar Dyson's do. It's taller than our Dyson floor model by quite a bit...maybe 12"? It has similar air output to the Dyson. It occilates. It has a filtered setting that I'm unfamiliar with and don't see much difference in from its normal setting.
At first I had problems getting the fan to register when I used the remote control. Then I discovered a clear plastic film over the senser which, when removed, helped a lot for the remote control to work properly. The remote does need a 'line of sight' though so if oscillation is on and it's turned away from you when it was stopped you may need to actually stand up and go stand in front of it to get the remote to work to turn it back on. This is similar to most other fans with remote controls though...including the Dyson model.
Update: 1 Year Later
I really love this fan! More so now that we've used it for a year. It's in our bedroom and I sometimes use it for white noise to muffle my husband's snoring. It's not really great for that because his snoring is loud and this fan, even on it's highest setting...isn't loud enough! Overall the loudest setting is fairly loud...if I want air movement and not much sound I use the last 2 settings. This thing moves air better than our Dyson and is comparable to a regular fan. If I had to guess I 'd say that air movement-wise...the last 2 settings on this are comparable to the main 2 settings on our Dyson...this is much better moving air!
It's a really slim design...and it stands about 4 feet tall. Our bed is slightly higher than average...and this fan is the perfect height for us. My husband doesn't keep removing it from our bedroom behind my back because the slim design doesn't annoy him as much as the pedestal fan it replaced. Because it's in our bedroom it's used year round. After one year of medium & consistent use, it's still operating beautifully and shows no signs of wear and tear. I love that there's nothing to clean on it. There are these louvers inside the bladeless opening but they don't attract dust and dirt. So, I checked it today to see if it needed cleaning...and it doesn't. If it had been a pedestal...it would and I'd have to take the whole thing apart to do it.
So I'm thrilled with this fan and I'm thinking of getting another one to replace a 2nd tower fan that I got at the same time that hasn't held up as well. That one is Ozeri 3x Tower Fan, it's $82 August 2017 & $96 was our price in June 2016. We've only used it on occasion until recently, when we started using it move heavily but now it's begun to rattle.
just make sure you clean the filter on the back or it will for sure break
you need to clean the back screen/filter out at least once every 1 to 2 weeks
great fan though and even comes with a remote
* Very nice looking fan! Looks high tech and of good quality.
* Reasonable price for a study built fan. (compared to Dyson bladeless fans)
* Bladeless, safe for homes with young children.
* The fan is short. My bed is high up and only a little bit of win reaches me when I'm in bed. I wanted to use this in the bedroom but it won't work, so I'm using it in the living room instead. Check the height of the fan before you purchase.
* I live in Southern California where it's really hot now. The highest setting "4" provides enough wind but it's REALLY LOUD. Lower settings the wind is just too little, close to none existing.
* There are holes (air vents, the rectangular holes you see on the picture on both right and left side of the big hole in the fan) that can collect dust like regular fans, so it requires dusting too.
I'm keeping the fan because it looks good and it work well on quieter setting 1~2 with the air-con on. I hope this fan will not break or malfunction within 2 years then I'm happy with it.
Its not the strongest air blowing fan i have experienced but is good enough for a decent size room.
I bought two already and plan to buy two more once the old ones i have start to die. those are also Lasko so i am thinking it may be a while :)
