The air on low is plenty to cool a bedroom for sleeping. The noise on low is very acceptable. When you come into the house all sweated up and go for medium or high the air movement is very strong and cools you quickly. On high it will move the air around a large room. Oscillation works fine. The noise increases as you go for higher speeds and the noise on high is noticeable. It is sort of a buzzing sound, but what do you expect with a high speed fan on high setting. This is not like a slow speed attic fan, it really cranks up the RPM so there will be some noise. I don't find it objectionable, but if you are looking for an almost silent fan that moves lots of air then don't buy this one.
The vertical position "clicker" works fine and it is nice to be able to point these at the ceiling to stir up the entire room.
We are well pleased with both of our fans and would buy them again if needed. Now let's hope that they last a long time. Nice job Lasko!
The remote feature is a huge bonus for those hot nights that become cold mornings. But I have not really used any of the other features.
The base of the fan is really wide which can be a pain for smaller homes with smaller rooms.
Overall its a great value but my biggest problem with the fan was assembly. The assembly itself was pretty fast and easy, the instructions confused me a little at first, but what shocked me was that the base pole and the heavy head of the fan are not secured on by anything. You actually just drop it into the poll and thats it. It's not a problem while its running but if you go to pick up the fan the top pops off the pole and smacks you in the face if your not aware that it was going to come undone. I was disappointed by that but forgave it after I had the fan in place and saw it worked well.
maybe this is normal for pedestal fans but I'm used to machines with a sturdier build. The plastic and make of the fan also look a bit cheap but all is forgiven once I had it in place and turned it on.

I bought it from Costco. Great fan. But broken plastic chunks started popping out occasionally from the head. It continued working for quite a while until it stopped. Read morePublished 11 months ago by Tom Nuber

This fan works very well and the remote is excellent. The only problem is that the add says it has a 7 hour timer and it actually only goes up to 4 hours.Published on October 31, 2010 by Curvion
