The app is kind ok
I think the app isn't as necessary when it has buttons on it, but I bet it would be cool to hook up other fans to the app at the same time then it's full potential is useful, but with one fan. It was a novelty to play with. I did have an instance a day after I got it. It beeped and froze, but the light was still on. It beeped again and started turning but I had to reset the direction of the blades.

We use this fan in the upper half of a double hung window. We were a bit hesitant since most makers only show installation in the lower half of a double hung. But we installed this no problem in the upper half by turning the unit upside down, so that unit channels align with window frames (see photos). This installation makes the most sense for us since we want to move hot air out of an upstairs room.
Our window is 42 inches wide, so we close off the excess space with a piece of plywood.
We chose this unit because it had the highest rating for low noise level. And we can confirm the low fan noise. Our cat sleeps in this window and continues to use it as a sleeping area with the fan running, so she approves as well. It is keeping the room comfortable on hot days, something we couldn’t achieve before buying this fan.
The Bluetooth app and controls work great - they are simple and intuitive. We can control fan on-off, fan direction, speed, and activation temperature from our ground floor. The only disadvantage in our installation is the temperature readout is upside-down as well; a very minor inconvenience.
We would recommend this unit to others considering a window fan because of its efficient heat exhaust function, relatively quiet fans, and Bluetooth remote. The extra $20 we spent on this unit compared to similar fans was well worth the money.
