This stunning story by Leigh Lennon will make you believe that no matter the outcome, there will always be love. Love within the family. Love within the community. Love. Period. I’m still choked up as I try to write a review worthy of this special book.
Readers you are warned- THE LAST BREATH is a tearjerker and you’ll need more than a box of tissues on hand. I can’t stress enough that this is a must read. THE LAST BREATH will make your heart soar, your eyes will tear up like you’ve just lost a loved one, and then you’ll be pondering about your own life afterwards.
This is a story of a family facing reality head-on and coming together to support one another. It is an intense and beautiful tear-jerker. Julia’s story definitely made me think about life and those things we know but sometimes don’t focus on because we have so much going on – enjoy each day, make memories as often as you can, and appreciate all that you have, including the people in your life. I loved that it was told in multiple points of view, so that I could get a glimpse of how most of the characters were feeling and what they were thinking. The way they came closer to each other was so heart-warming. I highly recommend reading this story – just be sure to have tissues handy!
