While reading works of fiction that mix technology and magic, my skepticism usually gets the best of me. That’s not the case in The Last God. The world you’re introduced to and its rich history are so intricately woven that you won’t bat an eye as you’re propelled through this dramatic page-turner.
Also noteworthy is the alluring and complex cast of characters, which is as three-dimensional as the galaxy they maneuver through. How could a god (or Unlata Kai) possibly fall for a mere (not to mention severely damaged) human man? The premise seems implausible. The delivery begs to differ.
I highly recommend The Last God to anyone prone to the sci-fi and fantasy genres, as well as anyone looking for a great story to get lost in. This is a fun, fast read that will touch you and leave you aching for more.
Among the aid workers is a man named Logan. Plagued by nightmares of his own world’s enslavement and destruction, he is unable to connect with anyone around him, until he carries the injured goddess back to his ship.
Two people who doubted life had much to offer either of them discover they may have something to live for together.
This is the opening to the Sci-Fi Romance, “The Last God,” by Jean Davis. I have read other works by her before, and this story continues to show Jean’s talents for creating in-depth worlds you want to visit, plots that hold your attention and don’t let go, and characters you will love like family. If you love Sci-fi, Romance, and especially a mix of both you will enjoy this book.
Jean Davis creates a unique universe with interesting characters. Fun read!
