Now, the entire critically acclaimed Y: THE LAST MAN saga written by Brian K. Vaughan, one of the writers of LOST, is collected into a series of oversized, hardcover editions. In this second volume, a Russian space from the International Space Station is returning to earth carrying three passengers: one woman and two men. Could this be the end of Yorick's tenure as last living male? Plus, the group runs up against a roadblock in Arizona where the female remains of the Sons of Arizona militia have cut the interstate to keep out any vestiges of the U.S. government.

I hope it gets better in the next volumes.
It grabs your attention and doesn't let go
After leaving Marrisville in the last issue, issues 11-23 follow the trio on there journey to California. I will say it's a little ridiculous that they haven't gotten there yet, considering the dialogue indicates that one issue = one month, but this is a minor flaw. Along the way, Yorick, 355, and Dr. Mann meet a number of communities of woman, and see how everyone is keeping up after the gendercide. This focus on the side stories has given this series a much wider sense of scope and a number of fascinating characters. Even better, Ampersand is no longer causing tons of problems for the trio, which was my biggest problem with the first volume.
I can't wait to see where the series goes from here.
Put simply, I loved this book and had no real intention of classifying it as one of the best until after I read it!!! I simply couldn't get enough of this series, so I purchased the next one immediately and continued my journey in the lonely existance of thinking, what would it be like to be the last guy left in a world that has gone completely nuts!!! GREAT BOOK and a MUST HAVE in any graphic novel collection!
I seriously hope this gets made into a film someday because its story of humanity should resonate through every living person.

The second volume in this series is just as good as the first. This one is a little different as there are a lot more 'episodic' parts that a larger story arc. Can get a little weird in some places, but generally the stories are still fresh.
I can see the stories becoming boring and repetitive if they do not reach their destination soon. Yes, its cool having a road trip - but how many stories can we have of messed up women and conspiracy theories?
The artwork and characters are exactly my cup of tea.
Enjoyed this even more than the first. The series has a lot of Vaughan's trademark humour, whilst also offering different and interesting perspectives on what would happen if all men died (except one) and women inherited the earth. Though there are plenty of crazies in this post-men era, the story and themes are ultimately very feminist
There's more world-building and Yorick's sister is in this one more. I hope the story gets more intricate though, as so far, it's pretty much just everybody wants to kill Yorick.
Still, it was an excellent read and I am interested to find out what happens next.

The art is reasonable, and the subject keeps your attention. There isn't a lot of resolution here just a steady unravelling of the plot and a slow progression forward with a spattering of insight into the characters and their motivations.
