Let me be clear. I often rate a Christian Hip-Hop artist's effort a 4 or 5.

They are TRUE 4 or 5's.

What can I say about this latest effort from Stephen? I'm a 80s kid so I grew up listening to hip-hop. I'm from NYC originally anyway. My point is when I rocked the world's raps, I repped the Wu, Mobb Deep, KRS-One, Boot Camp etc.

I rocked Pharcyde, Del, and Souls of Mischief.

What Stephen did with this joint right here is TOOK ME BACK to the foundation but he flipped it because it's ALL LYRICALLY on point laced with the Gospel and true Reality rhymes.

Favorite Tracks:
Voltron, Fight Club, Dividing Lies, Rehoboam, Enter:Missionary, The First and Last Missionary(ies)

I mean, what I rate a 5 is a 5.

This is a 5 !!!

In a genre which often comes off as a mere microcosm of it's secular counterpart - where rappers wait for top 10 secular artists to dictate their sound - Stephen the Levite's unique lyrical approach is a breath of fresh air. Search high and low and you won't find another emcee like him - soli Deo goria. The Last Missionary is proof that God can use the simple and unprofound things to get glory for Himself. It is also proof that Christian hiphop has more to offer than what the secular market often sees it as - a cute attempt at imitation. If you are into intellectual, lyrical, Christ glorifying hip-hop, with a progressive yet rootsy sound - this album is for you!!! Classic!

....but it just may have been worth the wait. Great, deep lyrics, combined with great beats!
He always does a good job of introducing challenging topics, all while being Biblically balanced and fun! Well done StL!
