Editorial Reviews

Review

It is so revealing that it exposed the corruption of the Mubarak regime and authoritarian regimes in the region --BBC World Service

This book is essential in understanding the nature of Mubarak's regime and similar authoritarian regimes in the region --The Washington Post

This book has been prophetic in its predication of the fall of the Mubarak regime and others in the region --New York Times

From the Author

This book is dedicated to my late mother, who taught me how to read and write at the age of three. She passed away three years ago. I could not go back home to Egypt to bid her farewell. She spent almost forty years of her life teaching Arabic to thousands of students in Egyptian schools.

This book is also dedicated to the late Egyptian novelist and Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Naguib Mahfouz. Mahfouz' writings embodied and immortalized the spirit of the Egyptian people. Mahfouz's novels and writings have been inspirational to many people worldwide, including me.
