From the Author
My husband and I cruised in our trawler, Intrepid,
up and down the Inside Passage, from the tip of Washington State to Alaska and back. In the 20 or so summers we spent exploring the west side of Vancouver Island and isolated islands northward, we'd dock near fishing camps and resorts, where sports fishermen and women yearned to catch big Sockeye Salmon, halibut, and cod. I'd watch the interactions of fishing guides with their clients; I observed the routines of a fishing resort; I chatted up employees and visitors. What if a certain fishing resort was in trouble and a corporate 'fixer' came to bail out the place? What if the problems at the business were way more menacing than poor management? Last Resort's suspenseful plot came to me through several summers of boating. I hope you enjoy your
cruise to this troubled fishing resort.
