The heroine in the story is a young woman that is a bit different. She is a champion barrel racer and her current job is training horses. She is quite good at her job. She is a beautiful, sexy woman but she has a very independent streak and she can be a bit wild. From early youth she decided she did not want kids or the picket fence and a perfect husband. There is nothing wrong with her, she is just different. Her family cannot accept her for who she is and constantly stays on her back about conforming to their thoughts on how she should live her life.
These two characters get together. There is a little switch. HE is the one that is wanting to take things slow. She on the other hand is wanting to rush them right into the bedroom. He slows her down and he is right she is just having a hard time moving at his pace. Theirs is a good romance. There is humor as well as a bit of tragedy on both sides. Murph the dog adds a lot to this story. He is the perfect dog!! In this story there is a lot of suspense and mystery as a drug lord cousin wants to get revenge on Jerimiah for turning him in and getting him convicted to 16 years in prison. So there is the ever present threat on his life. So there is adventure and gun slinging going on. It is a very good story that holds the interest from start to finish. I would definitely recommend it. It is a bit steamy in parts - after he finally gives in :-)
I was not paid for this review. I am not a writer nor do I know one. I am not kin to this author. I am a reader and this is my opinion, nothing more, nothing less. 3/3/18
I laughed, I cried, and I can't wait to re-read this book. So many details from the others books were tied together beautifully and I loved the inclusion of the other Northstar residents I've come to know and love.
I'm a huge fan of the author's work and had already pre-ordered the book when I was given a chance for an ARC. My opinions and review are my own. I'm always thrilled to add a Suzie O'Connell book to my collection.
